One of our players had a job opportunity that has left an opening in our game. We are a mature and inclusive group, while the game does not touch upon explicitly adult themes, you must be 18 to join the game. I try to hit all the pillars, though combat certainly gets the most screen time. Clues, puzzles, significant npcs, and exploration are all common though. I make extensive use of published materials, mostly classic, though updated and remixed for the current campaign. The departing character was a dwarf barbarian. The party currently is made up of an elf wizard, human bard, human fighter (archer), and human monk. A new character would begin at 5th level. Only the 4 basic d&d races, Humans, Halflings, Dwarves, Elves, are common, though gnomes do exist and a pc gnome would be acceptable. There are some (rp based, so not as much strictly enforced as needing sufficient explanation) race/class restrictions. Sorcerers are not in the game, and the event that would allow for warlocks just occurred (while previously warlocks were not playable, one could be now). There are a handful of house rules, some of which are substantial but limited in scope (Elven druids don't shapeshift, wizards don't use scrolls or books to learn extra spells etc.). On the other Thursdays I run a different group in the same campaign, in a month or two there will be an event open to all players (which will probably be awkward and chaotic, but hopefully fun).
