News of the Governor’s death has spread quickly and the local lords have wasted no time in claiming his position. The most powerful of these has declared a carnival and now the streets are crowded with masked revellers in garish costumes. While nobles gather their armies, this city seems happy to hide itself in debauchery. But this is considered trivial as you as you stand in the cramped Office of the Voss Lander Colonial Trading Concern. All eyes face a nervous clerk adjusting his glasses and sorting through a stack of ledgers and papers piled messily on his desk. The Clerk clears his throat finding what he was looking for. "We are gathered here to witness the reading of Conquistador Algernon Voss Lander's last will and testament." he says as a matter of protocol rather than necessity. "To my Son I leave my ship the San Orasia, she is found in my treasure chamber in Pirates Grotto. What is left in the treasure chamber is also yours. You can find Pirates Grotto through a secret door in my study in Voss Lander House. To my Saviour I leave the Deed to Marionette Quay my efforts to build a trade post there were hindered by the disgruntled and violent natives, so hopefully you will make better of the situation. You will find the Deed hidden in the Attic of Voss Lander House. To my Colleague I leave my Ruby Ring, may you finally discover its purpose after it has vexed me for so long. You will find it behind my portrait in my bedroom & my clerk knows the code to the safe. To my Student I leave my book of Ancient Elven translations. It is of course in my library. To my Clerk I leave the Office of the Voss Lander Colonial Trading Concern as well as Voss Lander House so he may sell it to settle my depts." The Clerk sighs and wipes his brow. "Now, there is one more item in this inheritance. One which we will all receive equal share. The night he died he came in here with a stab wound, a warning and the location of the greatest treasure of the New World." Choose if you are the Son, Saviour, Colleague, Student or Clerk. Some world info You are in the City of Porto Sardis, the only colonial city in the New World and holds power over the various towns and colonies that line the coast. As said above the Governor is dead so the nobles are hosting a Carnival to hide the sounds of their rivals deaths. Conquistador Algernon Voss Lander is a famed explorer who disappeared several mouths ago on a secret expedition. When he returned he suspiciously died. Races Humans are colonists or Conquistadors from the the Kingdom of Mondriego who come here for God and Gold. (Spanishish) Elves are natives to the Jungles of the New World. They are the largest and most civilized population (before Humans came) of the New World. Although there leaders practice foul corrupting magic unknown in the Old Kingdom. It is there ruins that dot the landscape and hide in the jungles. Those that live in the Colonies are either second class citizens and have given up their heathen ways or are enslaved to toil in fields and mines. This is not true for all some have found there way into academic circles teaching Magicians how to shape and craft their magic. (Aztecish) Those that live in the Jungles hide, plot and beg the spirits for aid. Halflings are also native but unlike the elves willingly joined colonial society. They find it much more pleasant than resorting to cannibalism in the jungle or being conquered by the strange and sinister Elves. Although some still hide in the deep jungles and present some hostility most trade peacefully or find work in colonies as trackers, hunters and guides. Dwarves live in the Old Kingdom and are unlikely to cross the sea.
Eric P. said: Dwarves live in the Old Kingdom and are unlikely to cross the sea. Unless they've heard of a fabled city of gold, in which case they're all about that.

We shall use the San Orasia to right my father's legacy and seek out those that wished to scratch the Voss Lander name from tomes of history. The glory of Mondriego has passed to us! -Son (Glory seeking open 24/7 for scheduling purposes)
I shall finish what my esteemed partner began and discover the secrets of the ruby ring.  However to accomplish my goals I'll need the Son and his ship....  The Colleague
Has this game already been concluded?
If the game still has room: Vos Landers, my dear friend, its is sad to see you laid low like this. After that time when I found you stuck on a tree limb by a jaguar and dispatched the animal, you have been a staunch friend. I will reclaim your trade post in Marionette Quay from the horrible buggers and turn it into a trade empire worthy of your name. Hopefully I can get the help of your Colleague and Son in this endeavor. ~ The Saviour
I have made you all character sheets in the Porto Sardis Folder, please fill it in before the game. If you can't fill it in because you don't have the books or something tell me your choice from Elf, Halfling, Human Warrior, Human Magician, Human Cleric or Human Thief. At the moment we have a Mondriegan Conquistador (Human Warrior).
Is sunday still the agreed upon time?
yeah
Ah, I might have to let this adventure go. My schudle was changed this week and I dont know hoe long it is in effect. Sorry for taking your time
bummer mate.  we'll miss you.  I hope this doesn't damper our chances.  anyone else out there with some time Sunday evening?
Hey Folks,  I'm still trying to drum up recruitment. In fact I just put this game on the Roll20 Listings (in hindsight I should have done this weeks ago) which should get some people interested but unfortunately probably not in time for tomorrows game. If I'm surprised and people do join in the next 8 or so hours then I suppose I could run something but otherwise it wont be on until we get at least 1 more player.

Hey, I'm sorry to inform you this late but i wont be able to make it tonight. I have some personal problems sorry.
Signor Voss Lander, I pray that the headache of attempting to manage your disastrous affairs can finally be cured in this undertaking. I am not optimistic that my service to you will be duly compensated, however. -The Clerk
Ok, looking forward to meeting you all.  I have finished a rough build for the Colleague although I'm a newbie with Torchbearer so it still needs a little work.  Catch you tomorrow.
Yeah see you all tomorrow.
"To the most brave and hedstrong party, I send my sinseerest ragrets that I have missed the point of our last meeting. Your acwantince remains most valuable and upon our next meeting I shall have with me plenty of Mondriego's finest wine over which we can hasten any time lost. There is much to discuss, and no prepa planning to waste.  Be well                                                                                                                                                            "
Is there an open slot in this game?
sure, can you meet up on another day to make a character?
Sure - I can meet tonight or sometime Saturday afternoon. (EST)
Should I meet you in game or something? I'd still like to play.
There is a game today? What game? and is there a position free?
