Hi

Im out of town till the end of the month, but Im very interested in playing. I was thinking of remaking my old commando from the d20 game, and trying him out. My little brother will also likely play.

Hey Brandon, and welcome. Feel free to send your brother the link, though please keep in mind it may not be till the new year that I actually look to running this. Also, I've found when trying to remake an existing character is to be more mindful on the core ability your character has rather than everything. Translation doesn't go over to well coming from d20.
Im a old hand at RPGs, so dont worry. Im not trying to remake him persay, just use him as the template to build from. Like an advanced concept. Also, the time line isnt a bother either, Im currently locked up in a ward till the end of the month (inpatient treatment for PTSD) and christmas is hell for everyone involved. If youd like to talk though Id live to talk shop.
Also, while Im in the ward, I have my copy of EotE, if you have ANY questions you need researched or mechanics you want a different veiw point on, please ask. I have over a decade in RPGs and tearing them apart to look at the insides is a hobby I happilly enjoy. And lets face it, this place is fucking dull.

heh, I'm just trying to get through the beginner's book first. I've played a couple games so I know the basic mechanics. Figured one step at a time. How I learned Saga and I know it front to back.
I have thumbed the book a couple times. Think Ill make my commando tonight for giggles and see how he comes out. One of my prized possessions is the 7ft tall book case in my living room that is top to bottom rpg books, and I know how to play every one of the systems and run most. So, yeah... its a hobby Ive always been passionate about. And if you need a paper bitch, Im your grunt.

I've been reading through the second adventure and I'm really impressed. Fantasy Flight has done a great job with writing the modules. Even on the free module they released to follow the included Beginner's adventure. I'm very excited to run this to say the least.
FFG always makes very pretty products, but normally they are convuluted and hard to grasp. Once your past the funkyness of the dice (ie the floating TNs, mass rolls, ect) its a very simplistic and well written system. AND I LOVE THE FORCE IS RARE. Everyone and their mother normally trys right for jedi. This feels like KOTOR, the orgional game, where you earn jedi later in the game. It makes it an extraordinatry aspect of the game that is not only hard but rewarding, which is my favorite combo.

I'm just praying Age of Rebellion and Force and Destiny don't turn out to each be another enclyopedia.
I've got the Age of Rebellion Beta book and its only 105 pages, primarily because they didn't want to rehash a lot of what's covered in EotE. So while it adds a lot of great new stuff, species, careers, rules...etc. I feel like if you're already familiar with the game, the new stuff is really all you'll need from it.
Does anyone have that book on PDF cause ive never heard of it. If you could send it to my email at strykerfist@gmail.com Id owe you a solid. Love you long time.

That would be because it's the beta... EOTE was about that big before the hard cover complete book came out.

It's actually rather neat how they're releasing them. They're following the themes of the original movies.
Yeah, I thought it was pretty cool that they're releasing them in a way that makes sense with the original trilogy, and Brandon I agree that the Jedi love gets a little old. I understand that they are an integral part of Star Wars but they're not the only thing that matters. I was just basing my thoughts that the AoR would contain a lot of repeat information from EotE off the fact that the table of contents are set up similarly and Fantasy Flight has said each could be played stand alone.
That will be sad. Whitewolf publishing all over again. Maybe it will be at least written from a different perspective.
So how many players are going to be in this campaign?
>.> When did my greeting thread become the hang out spot? XD lol
Hey all. Looks to be an interesting game. When the time comes and it doesnt interfear with another game or work schedule I hope to part of it. Not sure of the character concept yet, still get head into story line.

I've always enjoyed playing mechanically inclined characters, maybe an Outlaw Tech character would be appropriate for me...*goes to dig up the info*
Touche Alicia, touche.
