So hey there! I am 30 years old and have been playing on and off for about 2 years now. My online group of friends just doesn't do much consistently anymore so I am looking to find another.

I really want to try and get into RP more and explore more of what D&D has to offer. I haven't been playing that long but I feel like it's a game I should have been playing all my life. Basically, I am just very eager to play!

So, I'm just looking for an interesting adventure that plays once a week with both roleplaying and combat.I live on the east coast of USA so take that into consideration for play times.

I have an idea for a character I’ve been working on that I would like to play. Of course, I can change/modify or play something totally different if needed!

Name: Runt/Oak

Race: Half-Orc

Class: Paladin2/Barbarian

Alignment: Chaotic Good

Runt was put into slavery at a very early age and doesn't know if he has any parents or relatives alive. He was big, even for a half-orc and had a "runt" sized brain almost as if in exchange for his size. Since he was so strong, he was trained at an early age to fight in the slave pits. He hated fighting so his owners had to beat him. If that didn't work, they would beat his friends while he watched. One day at around 17 years old, after a match, he watched a friend get beaten to death by his owner just for losing.

Runt saw red and grabbed his trusty club and ran at the slave master, weapon raised.....

He awoke later the next day in the woods somewhere he didn't know, covered in blood and wounds from his escape. He didn't know what to do at first since he had never really had a choice before,so, he just started walking. Since he had lived in a slave camp pretty much all his life he hadn't ever really been out in the woods. He roamed around for months falling in love with the forest and all the animals within. It was during this time that he changed his name to Oak for the trees that he loved.

One day while out walking in the woods he came upon a wounded deer defending its fawn from wolves. Without hesitation Oak raised his trusty club and ran towards the wolves screaming. He fought bravely and managed to run off the wolves but not before the deer had died and he was wounded gravely.

He crawled over to the deer and laid up against it, crying. He wished he had the strength to save not only the deer, but his friend at the camp along with so many others over the years.

As he lay dying, the goddess Atira dressed in ranger garb with a bow like the moon on her back appeared before him and knelt down. She looked at the half-orc crying beside this animal it had died trying to save and took pity on him. She put her hand on his head and Oak opened his eyes and saw her. To him, she was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen.

She asked him if she gave him her strength would he use it to protect nature and the animals from any evil that may befall them. Oak said he would do anything for pretty lady. She smiled and Oak suddenly felt better.

The goddess helped him stand up and saw the slave shackle still on his wrist. She touched her finger in the blood of the deer and touched the shackle. Before Oak's eyes it transformed into a silver looking bracer with a reddish/gold symbol of the ladies bow. Oak watched Atira place her arms on the deer saying she would take him some place proper. She looked up at him and said "When you need my aid simply call my name" and vanished along with the deer and fawn.

Soooo yeah that's pretty long but that's my guy. When I say runt sized brain I don't mean he is super dumb and killing kittens “Of Mice and Men” style. He may not be all that bright but he has seen a lot of things in his life at the slave camp so he knows a bad thing when he sees it. He doesn't think of himself as a paladin of course but it allows him to heal people a little and smite people with the strength of his goddess.
