If your players are prone to meta-gaming, there's really not much you can do to prevent it short of removing them from the game. For reference, it would be no different than someone sitting at the table with their books out and open. If a player pipes up and says "that monster can't do that!" you simply look back at them grinning and say "mine can." ;) This, I'm in a game with a player who does nothing but metagame. It really detracts from the story and action of the game when he's sitting there muttering out the math for figuring out if it's "worth it" to try a disable device check on the lock or what the BBEG's AC or attack bonus is. Unfortunately, with the prevalence of online resources, there's no way to prevent it except for smacking them down when they do it. I do agree with you Khrain, that none of the above means you should make it easy for them to find the info :)
