My own set of dice? Good idea or not?

One aspect that I always liked about tabletop games which is now, sadly in my eyes, missing due to the quantum dice roller thingy, is that fact that, with physical dice you always had a "favourite" dice. The old faithful that you would break out for those vital rolls, because you knew  for sure, that this die was virtually guaranteed to roll just that little bit higher than the others. My suggestion would be that each player gets a "set" of dice, (for example) 6 d6, 5 d10, 2 d12, 5 d 20 etc, etc, and that each die is weighted slightly differently, but you don't know how until you use them. Each die is identifiable (like clear d10, purple d12 etc) and persists for the entirety of the campaign. Hell, why not make them transferrable between games and bound to each players account. That way, you get the feel back of having your own, personal set of dice, each with it's own foibles, including that god-awful fumble f**ker. For me, that would bring in an aspect of tabletop I've always loved - having my own set that I know and trust. You could even stick dice sets on the marketplace with custom designs instead of the standard red 3d set.
Since you're asking this as a question: I wouldn't want them to ever add "foibles" -- to break randomness with weighting. People whine enough about the randomness already, thanks to confirmation bias. I'd support being able to set my own texture and font on the dice, though.
You can always just use your own actual dice and call out your rolls.  Our regular group has been playing online for quite some time now, but because of having our campaigns populated on another service already, we waited to move here until we started a new campaign just recently.  I have always preferred to use my own actual dice because I do have a D20 that does tend to have a bit of a foible and roll "20" on an above average basis, but it also does roll a "1" on an above average basis as well (it likes the extremes, not in the middle ground very often).  Big thing, just remember to be honest with your rolls, because if you start cheating them, your group will realize, and the only one you end up hurting is yourself by ruining your friendships.
