This is a My Little Pony game! ... Still here? Good, then let's continue. First of all, the basics: - We seek up to 3 additional players, for a maximum total party size of 6. Power level will be scaled as you'd expect from a sandbox game with a lot of plotlines: It'll be fair*. - The world will be almost entirely homebrew with strong influences from the show (more to that later), and any WOTC book or official Pathfinder book is allowed, though the main books will be the 3.5 Player's Handbook, Eclipse: The Codex Persona and The Practical Enchanter (yes, this includes Tome of Battle, Book of Vile Darkness and some other questionable stuff, though the DM can and will make adjustments, especially when it concerns loops or special cases*). - This is an all-alignments-allowed campaign. Please keep in mind that being Chaotic Evil (or any sort of chaotic, really) does not, in any way, mean you are Stupid. If your characters would NEVER have survived up to this point had they employed the behaviour they display (or, well, survived at all), then something is very wrong. - Powergaming yadda yadda Stormwind... You know the drill, just don't cause loops and stuffs. - Basically as a requirement, the DM can be considered to be not only a tad excentric, but also rather open to player suggestion. It's been a while since we've watched MLP, so should you have feedback and ideas, feel free to. He's a sucker for a nice character background and clear motivations. It also helps with immersion and provides plot hooks. - Anything not listed here is still being debated/discussed at this point. As you have seen, we do not have a set time yet. - The starting level is 1*. Starting level means LA+Class Level. Characters are built using Eclipse: The Codex Persona. If you're feeling lazy though, you can pick a standard race, ponify it and pick any Pathfinder or 3.5 class. - You start with no gold on your per-... pony, but are provided reasonable* equipment. If you require something specific, be sure to say it so it can be ready when you "arrive". - This is a D&D game. While we don't intend on making it 18+, keep in mind that ponies might get hurt or bleed or maybe even die, with all that entails. Now I know what you're thinking, "Of course things die, it's a D&D game", but trust me, we already lost a game to people that quit because a pony got hurt and they found that unacceptable. I wish I were kidding about this. The Pitch: "You were once a little critter, going about your business, when you (including typical wear, animal companions and such) were suddenly knocked unconscious by an invisible shockwave of energy. When you wake up, you find yourself in what appears to be a cave, with the ground covered in runes and a smell you can't quite place. The only thing of notice you can see is a salt statue of a pony clutching a book, surrounded by shards whose glow is slowly fading away. And after a few moments you realize: You are not alone." About Equestria: Characters from baseline Equestria are generally the product of lenient social and educational systems and beneficiaries of surprisingly good, if specific, medical magic, run by the immortal alicorn sisters, that, while out of touch with some matters, have centuries of experience. They are healthy (including any necessary physical or magical corrections as well, save for some extreme cases, and even some life-extension techniques), good-natured and well-educated (for their type of society). They are used to magic neatly handling everything, have "safe" and healthy childhoods, and have plenty of leisure time for hobbies. They may or may not have permanent magical enhancements, but they almost always have great innate magic and at least some resistance to harm. However, the characters will more than likely have an aversion to violence and be fairly naive. In game terms, origins don't really matter too much. Character attributes are either rolled using 4d6/keep 3 with one reroll, by taking average attributes of 3 10s and 3 11s or by using the nonelite array and are arranged as desired. Given the wide varieties of worlds to come from, fantasy and the possibilities of magical (or in some instances even genetic or kybernetic) engineering, players may design their own +0 or +1 racial templates (and more advanced templates later on via use of specific abilities, powers or spells), although they should always be recognizable as being basically equinoid (or, with GM's permission, draconic humanoid). Other important information: The Crystal Mirror is a major magical artifact and, along with the Neighcronomicon, the centerpoint of this campaign. It drew you into this world and allows you to visit others of it's kind, including the world you come from... Or the worlds of your party members. The world you are stranded in is an Equestria in which planar bleedover occured, bringing in monsters and allowing ponies to establish proper connections to the lower planes, making them a bit more weird* and allowing for actual enemies. In this world, you may find the means to free you from whatever dragged you into this, featuring a story-line with a thought-out world, some friends and a lot of foes. While the world you have been summoned into is the primary focus of the campaign (and the campaign can be completed entirely without leaving it once), it isn't the only one you may visit... And here comes the important part: By visiting other worlds, using a key (as in, something from said world) to attune the mirrors, you can obtain items, find teachers and perform rituals that might be impossible otherwise. Now, a single GM cannot keep track of multiple worlds at once (at least not without subjecting the players to hours of cooperative worldbuilding). To counteract that, the player whose world we'll be visiting will, for the duration of the visit, assume the role of Co-DM, aiding and correcting the GM in social encounters, descriptions and (in rare cases) combat and may roleplay major NPCs of that world. The GM can still veto you, however. You may wish to provide some quests... Or just go free form. The Neighcronomicon, on the other hand, is the minor magical artifact that's the other important item you will come into contact with. It has some rather... "interesting contents", including the exact ritual you need to return home and some clues as to what it was that brought you here in the first place. It is rumored to have more abilities... Though it is not known what those are. Finally, a word of warning: Please keep in mind that you are in the same boat. It will soon evident that, at least for now, you stand and fall together, and teamwork can yield some amazing benefits! However, everyone has an agenda and goals. While everyone plays for the party, they might not play for the same outside team. You are an automatic association for now, but always keep in mind: Power corrupts. Contact and stuffs: Just contact me via Roll20 or write the DM a message over Skype (falconeevee). His picture is of Pokemon's Team Aqua guy shouting quite energetically at what appears to be the shine of a lightbulb. No, I'm not kidding. Should you require a relevant pdf... Chances are I can send it to you via Skype. If you don't have Skype, get it we could use Discord, though Skype is prefered. See you around! *As defined by the DM and his current mood. EDIT: Fixed a typo. Also, should it be wanted, I could also send you a link to a little Discord-thingy.
