We are currently: Closed until further notice! Intro: Greetings friends and fellow adventurers. I'm Alt, and over the last 6 months I've been hosting my very own roleplaying game called "The King's Touch". Due to the loss of a recent player, we're looking for a new player to join us. "In The King's Touch, you and your friends will be setting out on a adventuring in and around the Lia'eth Coast. A land scorn by conflict in the past 100 years. With civil wars, foreign invasions and rumors of ancient horrors resurfacing. Together you must overcome the challanges set before you and bring peace back to the kingdom." Preview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HRxvXDOxZBk What is King's Touch? The King's Touch is a campaign that I've been hosting for 6 months every sunday at 6 pm UK, 7 PM France and 1 PM EST. The campaign features a large open world to explore which is ever expanding. Aswell as feature many well known fantasy races like Elves and Orcs. All with their own culture and factions. Now because this is a homebrew there may be some tweaks here and there, but only to make the gameplay experience more fun for everyone. Not only that, but I'm often asking the players for their own feedback. So if you have suggestions, let me know! Not sure if this is the game for you? Then we are open for trial runs. Simply request to be part of one of our sessions and you'll join in as a mercenary. If the game is too your liking, you can decide if you want to sign up as a full time player! Background info / tutorial / extra info: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTMUCXJ3nIU Features : *A main story campaign that takes you and your allies all around the world. *An in depth world filled with optional lore for you to uncover. *Meaningful choices. It seems interesting, but, say, do you have a system write-up or introduction that people can look at before deciding? Since this is a spoken kind of game, I would like to know what I could possibly be getting into before deciding
Heya Ancient, do you mean like a general ruleset for the game?

Hello, I'm Octave and I'm 22 years old and from France. I would be interested in joining your campaign, especially since I'm looking for a long standing one and your videos look really interesting. I really have no idea how your homebrew rules function tough, do you base your system on a game or is it totally homebrew? I speak English pretty well, especially for a French guy, which is partly due to the fact that part of my studies were done in the USA. My schedule is quite flexible. I've played in a group called the English speaking role players of Paris so i already have some experience with RPG in English ;) I usually play wizard (in 90% of my games) because i quite like to be the group know it all, but I may roll up another class if it annoys you to play with 2 wizards (i usually play crowd control so if your wizard plays blaster/summoner we may go well together, or i can roll up a summoner) Hit me up if you'd like me to join your campaign !
Yeah, but not only that, but also what kind of campaign the whole set up is in general. I understand that there's a campaign concept, but I'd also like to look into the details for the campaign itself.

Hello all, I am the guy who plays Karl Belmont the Ranger and I thought to myself: Why not do some advertising and / or explaining of the campaign! The King's Touch operates on a custom system by our GM Altaranalt. It is kept rather simple and differs a lot from usual D&D etc. but as it turns out it works really well. There are no modifiers to rolls, but you have to clear the roll by some amount based on your Ability Score, which you can increase with each level-up. Skill in combat is actually summarized in a single Ability Score which makes it tempting to dump all of your points into it - however all skills are required in the campaign and there are usually different ways to resolve situations. If you are not so skilled in combat but have great strength you can maybe throw something heavy at the bad guy and cause damage. If you have great Dexterity you may be able to pull off a stunt to disable the enemy. Another special thing about the system is the rather limited carrying capacity and the need to keep track of rations. But it is not a problem at all, since even I manage to not be encumbered and I am the hoarder of the group. The campaign itself is not really focused on anything: There are plenty of different things to do and the party can usually either avoid or seek out certain things. Often there are sessions without combat only to be followed by one huge epic fight. Whenever we are in a dungeon it is usually time for creative thinking or deciding which unlucky person gets sent into a room first. These exploration parts are done exceptionally well and so far every dungeon was unique and well thought out. Some sessions, usually after a pretty big fight or difficult dungeon, are spent on buying stuff, but even that is interesting because of the different NPCs. As for the group and our playstyle: I am the one who likes to do moderately stupid things every once in a while to speed things up a little, even if it's not always in our favor. I also happen to die a lot. Sareth, the wizard of the group, is usually sent in to talk to important NPCs and is the groups most knowledgeable person. "Zap" is the groups Elf and warrior and usually has to absorb enemy damage. His solutions - often to burn down a place or flee while we can - are usually the best, though we still never follow his plans - which usually causes Karl to go unconscious sooner or later. Storywise I won't spoil anything. But it's a very interesting story, though I might not remember every detail of it (which is a nice way to say that I'm extremely forgetful and don't remember half of it. But the other half I DO remember is awesome!). All in all, if you want to join this campaign you should be comfortable with sessions that do not contain combat. I would say that 45% is dungeon exploration, 17,5% is combat, 25% is roleplaying interaction with NPCs or each other and the rest (12,5%) is spent on buying stuff or doing other things in town after an exhausting session for the characters. Though these numbers are varying and I just came up with them on the spot. So, that's all the information I got! As for your character class, I'm sure you can choose anything you like. We had a Rogue/Thief before and we often need one actually, though we could also use a Priest or Cleric since we (well, it's mostly me) are always on the verge of dying and could need some heals. But even if you choose another class it should work out. By the way, if you, Altaranalt, already have found a player, then at least I'll now have a post that people can read (or I can copy/paste it for the future if we need one again).
QUICK HEAD'S UP! After receiving a lot more PMs than I expected, I will be closing recruitment for now. First of all, thank you all very much for the interest! It's great to see so many people interested in my game. Second, sorry if it might take some time before I reply to you. We only got room for 1 person right now (due to my mumble server only holding 5 people max). So you might not be able to join in anytime soon. That said, I will send everyone a reply to thank them personally for their interest! Also, big big thanks for Lee for writing down such an awesome explanation of the game. Honestly, it probably sums up the game better than I ever could. As of right now, I'm working on a more in depth explaination of the game / story / playstyle, etc. Problem is that I work a full time job + follow an education. So it might take some time. Once again, thank you all very much for the interest in the game, and I'll get around to awnsering those PMs asap.
