Name: Jorge Age: 22 Experience: I've played and DMed various games for 3 years, most in Roll 20. I love to play my character's role and play it well. So to get my character to do something I need some in-game rationale~ Character Race: Half Elf Level: 1 Bard (I will multiclass though with more emphasis in Warlock rather than Bard, That's just where my character starts.) Background Story: Vexikos (Vex for short/to anyone else) was born into the Noxifaen clan of witches, a sect of magic users (Mostly Female) who forge covenants/contracts/pacts with extradimensional beings of great power. Each pact is unique and has its own terms, not necessarily binding the witches all to the same duty, though for most that is the point. These pacts are made to promote freedom of the self by choosing the being who best suits you and not being forced into an agreement that would cause you to feel restrained. You patron is your partner, your greatest ally, and the one you will forever be bound to. The clan’s membership is determined by a combination of birthdate, star-sign and possible birthmarks. As such sometimes new members are born out of the clan, and their parents are invited to join the community of the clan to continually be involved in the chosen child’s life. Sometimes a witch will bear a child who is unchosen, this child is raised amongst the community still, but will not be taught the ways of magic as the witches know them. Vex was lucky enough to be born to Saima, a witch of the clan and was also one of those selected to become a witch. In his younger years, he opted to learn music, which was encouraged by his mother and the clan as all who joined were encouraged to discover magic in their own ways. He grew to the age of fifteen, a tall, lithe, musical half-elf. It was at this time he began to discover magic through song, and studied further into the subject over the next five years. At the age of twenty Vex journeyed out to discover his patron. Through meditation, travel and a little chance he came upon a circle of standing stones in the woods. He studied these stones for a few days, and sensed the aura of magic around them. He kept watch over the stars and moon phases, determining when would be the best time to see when the best time to attempt a summoning might be. The Faer-folk dance, the Faer-folk sing, the Faer-folk step in the magic ring…. Tread not there ‘till the light of day, lest the faer-folk steal your soul away… Vex returned under a full moon to seek his patron, harp in hand and bearing the gifts he felt would win the favor of one who he would seek to be partners with. Upon seeing the standing stones he saw a field of shimmering silver blue and violet lights under the moon. He had expected as much and entered the ring to find himself no longer in the realm of mortals. He found himself standing among tall and wondrous people. Dressed in robes of shimmering gold, silver, green, they almost looked to be made of light, with large wings that could have been crystal where thy not so thin. He was quickly looked upon and judged, they knew he was no Fae and did not care for a mortal’s intrusion. The Hierarchy of the Fae looked down on him and spoke of punishment. But then, one voice rang apart from the others. It would seem this part-Fae has come to court. A bold move for one of so little blood, but at least you’ve come bearing gifts…. The one who spoke was a tall Fae, his skin, rather than the light hue, had a pearly blue tint to his skin, long silvery hair and wings that were black as night, he wore robes of dark blue and purple skies. A Dark Lunar Fae named Kuuvägi. Well, what have you brought?... Nightshade, Amethyst… Oooh, is the lyre for me too?... Then why bring it if not a gift?... Performer?... Sing us a song then…. Vex felt nervous, was this Fae toying with him? What of the Fae Court who was watching this exchange with faces of annoyance and what might have been frustration. I offer you nothing, and take only that which is free… I’d give you a life full of risk, And the whirlwind of joy that can be… Don’t try to bind me, just love me, without any greed, and I’ll give you the world, and my heart, and the air that I breathe…. Slip the jesses my love, This hunter you own from the hood to the glove… That was when Kuuvägi held up his hand with a smirk and a chuckle. Hehe, that’s enough of a promise for me. I guess I’ll take you as my own- This was met with a displeased uproar from the court. Last time I checked, you don’t get to decide what I do. He’s mine, and since he’s mine, he can be here~ The night went on with many awkward and displeased glares. Before long Vex was absconded to Kuuvägi’s realm of the fairyland. An open modest palace of marble, with a sky of stars at all times with a pale blue moon overhead. Here Vex stayed and came to terms with the Fae. You will be mine in this life and the next. If your blade should fell a mortal, their souls are to be mine. The physical touch of another is a necessity, but will cost the hand that touches’ life. Should you be felled and I intervene, your debt must be repaid in flesh before you return. The bargain was struck, and as payment for being saved from the wrath of the Fae Court, Vex pain the flesh debt to his patron, the time was uncountable, and as it slipped by Vex found more and more that this patron was indeed the one he’d set to find, though not in the way he’d imagined. Vex trained with Kuuvägi for what felt to be ten years, learning magic and combat skills from his partner and growing closer in bond. When the day came for him to return, he was thirty, just starting his adult life. The parting was not without sorrow, Kuuvägi then gifted Vex with his focus, a silver amulet with a crescent moon imbued with three blue pearls, in the hook of the moon was a pentacle which had an amethyst set in the center. Vex returned to the mortal plane, to find it had only been one night since he had departed. Ten years he had lived in the Fae-realm only to return the morning after. (Vex sends souls to his patron by touching the amulet, it glows with a violet light that pulses a little with each soul absorbed, doesn’t have to yield a bonus, it’s just a flavor text thing that he does to be more detailed)
