Dice roll homebrew

Hello, my group thought of the following rolling system. You can roll 1 to 5 d4, d6, d8, d10 or d12. You keep the highest score, but it can be improved by having any other dice dice rolling a certain score or higher. Say for d8, if you roll 7, your final score is 7. If you roll two 7, your final score is 7+1 = 8. On top of that, any score of 7 or 8, including the higher dice, allows you to roll one more dice, (which in turn can make you roll another etc)... I can do that pretty easily with exploding dice ({4d8!>7cs>7}>7) and just see the results and count how many dices (other than the highest) are above 7, and add 1 to the score for each of them. But is there a way to automate everything and have the final result (highest roll + nb of successes -1) ?
