Clear current chat log not working

I've tried several times to clear my games chat log.  I check it after I clear it and it is gone but if I exit the game and re-enter the chat log is back.  How do I clear chat log so it doesn't come back?

There is a difference between clearing the chat log inside the game interface and clearing the chat archive. If you want to clear it so that it doesn't come back, then you want to clear the chat archive (warning it will clear everything since campaign inception). <a href="https://wiki.roll20.net/Game_Management#Settings" rel="nofollow">https://wiki.roll20.net/Game_Management#Settings</a> This is found on the Game Management page for your campaign (same place you access Game Settings and the API).

Thank you for the help Kevin. &nbsp;I do want to clear everything in it so far. &nbsp;It is mostly pre-game chat about creating characters and other stuff. &nbsp;I appreciate you warning me of the consequences of doing this though. &nbsp;Very good to know that. &nbsp;
