Link to listing: https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/4860754/welcome-... Timezone: GMT -6 (mountain) Friday evenings (sometimes Saturdays instead) beginning around 17:00. I'm trying to set up a Pathfinder game that will run weekly From the 14th that will be in a Homebrew setting and played in an open/sandbox style. As the story progresses, I will emphasize drawing on character backstories , and goals set by the players to create a campaign that grows into something not entirely of my own mind. This will involved a mix of preparing ahead of time and improvising plots twists on the spot in response to what players do and say. I'm looking for someone to join the group who is a good communicator, group oriented, and basically just looking to have a fun time playing. If applying, please submit character ideas to me including the following guidelines: Character creation: core races, and humans are by far the most common (if you really want to pick another race, sell me on how your character will fit into a mostly human society that considers the term "racist" to be more often a compliment than insult) Any Paizo material except gunslingers, although I may later work that technology into the setting. Kineticists make me cringe, but I'd rather allow it and trust players not to go too power crazy. 20 point buy Group currently has a human oracle (occult mystery), a half-orc fighter, and a tengu sorcerer Character Story: I want to start this campaign off having some story for characters. I don't expect a novel, but rather hope you can provide a nice, to-the-point summary. It should include the following elements: Why are you in Carisport, the main port in the recently founded human Orona colonies? Why is your character a reliable person that the group would value over another candidate (the guy wanting to play a furry kelptomaniac who has a kanck for frequently getting the party into trouble showed me some people really don't get this point)? Make up a simple concept of one friend or ally your character has - I will reference this ally from time to time. Make up a simple concept of one adversary your character has - a competitor in training? someone with a grudge? other?

Regarding the question of whether I will post a list of NPCs for players to pick from for connections to their characters, this is what I posted in the game listing: No. absolutely not. the whole point is to avoid a railroad approach. when crafting major plot lines ill be askingv who do the characters know? who is already important to them? and how will they react to or be involved in these events? it's a way of involving the players in the whole collaboration of building the story right from the start. bonus points for anyone creative enough to come up with a good idea for an organization in their backstory without my help.

New thread up with more info on the colonies: https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/4864872/the-colonies/?pageforid=4864872#post-4864872 Players who join the game will get more help fleshing out the friend and antagonist they have designed for their character. Bonus points for players who come up with a good creative idea for a new organization tied in some way to their character. From the linked thread above: The colonists have lived for a couple generations now in towns in the region of Prosper Bay, once a major trading a millennium ago before the Fall. The trip from the island nation of Veda takes several weeks by boat, and the monarchy of Veda has little interest in controlling the Colonies, so the towns rely fairly heavily on each other and on good old fashioned hard work. Carisport: Founded 887 AF (current year 998 AF) town the party will be working from. Population: 8,949 primarily human, some halflings, frequent dwarven, elven, and gnomish visitors. half orcs quite rare, and other races almost unheard of. Primary industries: shipping, fishing, logging, mining, manufacturing, agriculture Carisport is bisected by the River Merrow as is empties into Prosper Bay, rising gradually out of the waters on the South of the river, with tall cliffs crowned by Fort Caris on the North side of the river. Carisport was the first town established by the third wave of settlers to attempt to repopulate Orona since the Fall. While the endeavor has been a struggle against an oddly hyper-hostile natural world, the settlers are hardy people. Organizations: Town Council, headed by a mayor and five Councillors. Town Militia The Temple Pantheon where representatives of the twelve faiths can be found. Explorer's Guild: backed by Vedan interests, the guild scouts the land for resources, strategically valuable land, and Oronan ruins. New Orona Arcane Society: a loose social organization of mages who want to practice their arts free of political supervision or interference. The Green Weavers: a druidic circle founded by Vedan halflings who focus on using Earth magics to replace manufacturing. A family of Green Weavers run the Shady Oak Inn in Carisport, a beautiful structure that was grown rather than built by weaving the branches from six massive oaks around each other. In the common room, tables grow out of the ground with goodberry bushes as centerpieces, surrounded by moss covered chairs. Darkleaf cloth clothing may be purchased from the inn. Various gangs: including the Dock Rats, the Blue Leaf Syndicate, and the Breadmakers. Links to associated Google Docs: Pantheon History (work in progress) Ideologies (work in progress) Calendar And another map. Veda and Prosper Bay are indicated (directly East of Veda). It's about 2,600 miles from port in Veda to port in Prosper Bay, Orona. Veda's area is roughly double the Brittish isles.

Still looking for one more player. Currently have a human oracle, a half-orc fighter, and an elf archer.
One has come, one has left. So we are again looking for another player with one week until game starts.
