Hello everyone!

How goes it all!   My name is Laz, and I am really happy to FINALLY find a DCC group.  I have zero experience playing it, but I have the Beta Rules and plan on snagging the official book ASAP. I love the aesthetic of the game, and the return to hacky, slashy, plundery, dungeon divey-goodness.   I have been playing RPGs on and off since the early 90's when I was a wee teen, so that old school 2nd Edition feel is familiar to me.  I DM and play 5E quite a bit, but I am getting jaded due to all these Wil Wheaton clones that watched Critical Role and think they can emulate that game table.  I don't like playing with people half my age that are picturing a rainbow and unicorn Sailor Moon anime while I am picturing a Frank Frazetta painting.  The two visions don't jive. Enter: DCC. Full disclosure, I have read (and began converting to 5E) the following scenarios from DCC: -Sailors on The Starless Sea -The Jewel Of The Carnifex -The Sea Queen Escapes! I absolutely love their concept and core "vibes". That said, thanks again for having me! EDIT***  Wow! The resources, recaps, and the like are amazing! Can't wait to play!

Welcome aboard! You'll find that we do a good mix of crawling, exploration, and role play. The dungeons tend to be small locations (you might notice this in those DCC modules). I run a mix of custom content and published 1st and 3rd party adventures so I'm glad you mentioned what you are already familiar with. You'll start with 4 level zeros which you can generate from a macro in-game. They will be residents of a demi-plane - a vale surrounded by small forest. There's a lake, one decrepit manor house, a wizard's tower. The place is run by one of three wizards (Al-Hazted, Erodiade, and Darjr)  chosen each morning by luck of drawing from the Deck of Fate. When one is chosen this way, your characters serve them for the day. You know that you come from somewhere else but can't remember it and feel as if you have lived and served in the demi plane for eternity. Expect plane-hopping - there are two (or three)  PCs from the original world where the city of Ravenskeep is, a few from some DCC-in-space travels, and one or two from a world ruled by vampires and humpty-dumpty-like beings. Money and loot is scarce. Death can happen instantly - especially for your zeros.
Sounds awesome~! Should I roll up the 0-levels prior to the session?  I am such a huge fan of the "funnel!"  I can hop on whenever and roll them up, really. If you prefer to be there, by all means I can wait.

Do it whenever you like. You have two weeks and it just takes a minute. I would prefer if you did it enough in advance to get avatars for them and give them names. Much more fun to kill off zeros that have gone through the trouble of being named :p
Ha ha...we are in total agreement! Toss me a few journals and I will get to 'rollin when I get home from work!

Just go into the campaign and type: !fodder That will generate a character sheet and a level zero for it.
oh sweet I just saw this
Sorry about that confusion, but I got it now!
I don't like playing with people half my age that are picturing a rainbow and unicorn Sailor Moon anime while I am picturing a Frank Frazetta painting . I can sympathize with this. Great to have you with us.  I think you'll find it to your liking.  I've only recently joined, and it's a good group of people with a fair and easy going GM.   See you in game!
Welcome aboard!
Hehe fresh meat! >=D  You seem like my kind of player Laz! Welcome aboard!
Welcome Laz! I also had zero experience with DCC and couldn't have asked for a better group to introduce me to the game. You are gonna love it here!
Welcome to the gang!
I am super pumped to join this group. Everyone is very creative and looks to be a blast! I just ordered a hars copy of the DCC rulebook so I can be prepared.
