Looking to give a new player a tutorial.

Hey all. I have a new player who is going to be joining a campaign I play in (I am not the DM). I want to get him used to Roll20 before the game to help ease their transition into the site. I know there is a tutorial when you first sign up (which is really good) but is there a mehtod for me to create a game just for him so I can go over the basics with him?

If you are going to do a one on one tutorial with him then you can just create a game and invite him in it. This will let you walk through the basics of the sheet you are going to use, how to create macros (if you use them), and other basics. The actual roll20 tutorial is only for solo learning and covers only roll20 usage but there is much more for a person to learn which usually happens during game play. Take a look at the  wiki  some and decide what you want to show and teach your new player.
Hi Pat, thanks for the update. I haven't used the DM's tools (yet), this would be just a tutorial to make sure he's up to speed. I thought that might have been the only way, but I wanted to check.

I've had to walk new people to roll20 through "How to use the sheet" and "How to use roll20" a few times. Usually it only takes about 30 minutes or less for most people to get the hang of everything. I would recommend writing up a list of what you want to show him/her then spend time answering questions. It would also be the perfect time to discuss character ideas and development (not make a character but just discuss it) so that the player has an idea about what will fit in your game. This would turn it into a type of session 0 combined with a tutorial which will help the player mesh into your game much easier.
Well I'm not DM'ing but he is joining our campaign and agian he wants to keep up with Roll20, but I'll go through some ideas with him for characters too.
