I am using ownCloud ( https://owncloud.com/ )

I just was pointed at this post:

in the new version, there is an API for developer. I am not sure if this API will fulfill the needs for a storage system for Roll20, but for those who has their own owncloud installation, it would be a nice feature.

I know, this is probably a huge work load and I don't expect you to include that API. I just wanted to point you to a posible soloution.
