Journal Ability to Refer to Character Name

Is there a way to create an Ability on the character journal, that emotes as the current name of that character? Like, say /emas @{thischaracters Name} attacks and rolls [[1d20+@Attack]]. I know you can use the selected feature to get a character or token name, but I'm thinking of cases where I copy the same macro between several different characters, some might be PCs, some NPCs, and I don't want to have to remember to have the token selected when the macro is run. But the token or character name may change. Is it possible?

Unfortunately currently there is not. Recently I've noticed a growing trend with this topic and I hope that with enough exposure the Dev's will see fit to give us an option. For now your only solution is to use the selected token feature. Though what you ask is similar to ideas expressed in these forum posts called "Self keyword for whispers and % macro calls" in the Suggestions Thread and "Why is /emas only usable by GM's?" posted right here in the Specific Use thread. You should head over to them and offer your ideas and support. This way we can keep the conversation going and show that this is a feature that would be really useful to storytellers.

Thanks Samuel. The lack of this function does seem to be a bit of an oversight.
