Hex-shaped/smaller hitboxes on Hex Grid?

I'm trying to make a hex map but the hitboxes around my objects are making it a real pain, since they overlap. As an example, if I have an objects in a hex surrounded by other objects, and then want to edit that first object, I first have to move away surrounding objects, since their hitboxes are in the way. It would be awesome if I could fix this somehow. P.S. The objects are as big as a hex in Roll20, and hex shaped.

Are the objects images? If they're images, this is unfortunately the limitation of images not being able to take on an irregular shape. If you place an image so that its contents will fill the hex cell, there will always be image overhang outside at the extremes of its dimensions. Vector graphics don't have this issue as you're either selecting a shape by its vertices, edges, or what it has determined as the "inside" of the shape if you have a fill used.
