[LFG] Spies & Espionage Interest check (GM wanted)

Do you see disclosure as dishonour, secrets as safety, trust as an lack of precaution? Are you willing to serve a good greater than yourself? This is an interest check for anyone that wants to play a somewhat realistic and gritty spy rpg. Im looking for a team of about 4 and a GM. The system we use will depend on the GM. But expect the usual systems; Spy Craft, D20 spies, James Bond RPG, Nights black agents, Conspiricy X or Ops & Tactics. Post below if your interested and what times of the week suit you best.
I'd be interested as a player. I don't have much pop experience with these particular systems though but I could probably figure them out. I've played games that use a variation of GURPS.
Are you still setting this up? I would love to talk to you.  Do you have Skype? I am warduke5150 on there.  I have some stuff to offer.
I am very interested in playing. I am a novice player, just so you know. I'm willing to adjust my schedule so that I can play, so whatever day and time works best for the group is fine by me.
Now that we have some interest it seems almost like we'd be missing out if we didnt start a game. I however have exams for the next few weeks so i'll be busy. But im fine with keeping up to date with you guys. We have 2-3  players, so now we need a GM. I'll let the GM decide the system though out of respect.
Bumping for interest.

I would be willing to GM this game.   I have been GMing for a few years now and I have wanted to do an espionage game.  Something set in the 1960s against the backdrop of the cold war that draws from all of the great spy movies and shows of that era.  I am a huge history buff and my forte as a GM is running games in historical settings. I could do this on Friday or Sunday nights (after 6om central) or anytime on Saturday.   I could also consider Monday nights as a possibility. As far as system... I think I would use the Ubiquity rule set (Leagues of Adventure).   It is easy enough for everyone to learn and could easily be adapted to a spy setting.
Alternatively, I could run it as a pre-WW2 espionage game.  Players would be undertaking missions against the Axis and maybe also the Soviets.   Really either era would be fun and offer lots of material to work with.

I might as well just say it. Im only really interested in playing a modern game. I notice that a concurrent theme in both your ideas is having a clear good an evil side. I'd just like to say that this is still doable in modern setting (think of the 1990s & Tom Clancies perspective), also a knowledge of history is almost essential when considering modern international perspectives. You could, and im just throwing this out there. Make a new agency to represent the good guys or, more realistically a new initiative under a parent agency. Then you could look over peoples character ideas before confirming if they are a good fit to the game. How does that sound?

You are right that I like the idea of having a clear "good" and "bad" side.  That is because I think part of what sets the spy genre apart from other genres is that spy fiction, at least good spy fiction, focuses on heroes who are willing to do things that are morally gray at best for a cause that they see as just (usually for their nation). As far as character ideas.... I think spy games in particular require a session 0 because you want a team of experts who all have the right skills.   You want a charming face man who can work an embassy party undercover, you want a tech guy to keep your gadgets operating, you probably want a sniper or other combat focused person to be the last resort. etc.  Some overlap can be good but you don't want a team of all the same kind of guy or nobody will have a chance to shine. As far as the setting goes I can be flexible on elements of it.   Does the group want more political intrigue or more "Bond Villain" types with their doomsday devices and plans to take over the world?  Does the group want fantastic gadgets or more mundane equipment?  More stealth action or more roleplaying in various aliases and cover identities?  All of that stuff I can be flexible on but I just don't see how running any kind of game in a modern setting could be any fun. Anyway, should your group change your mind and want me to run the game let me know.  Otherwise I wish you the best.
