I am completely new to this. I would like to play tabletop, but I need someone to show me the ropes.

I would like to play tabletop. If anyone would like to teach me to play I would greatly appreciate it.
I'm also new. Perhaps we could get a group of all inexperienced players together and find a more experienced GM?
Have you reviewed the videos? Created a game and tried to create Macros, Characters, assign tokens, maps, etc? Best way is to "fool around" with the interface and get a friend or two to log in at the same time. Lots of neat things show up when you ask, "How do I do X with Y?" For me it was having a look up (roll table) for what the selected token says as part of its action (Macro)
Where are these said videos? Also, I have no experience in any roleplaying game, except on console. I also have no friends here. I am just trying to find a place that I belong, lol.
Steven, you might find some useful information in the Roll20 Wiki . There are tutorial videos on using the application. Playing a tabletop game largely depends on what system and what setting you would like to use. Even D&D has multiple editions. Is there a particular genre you are interested in? Sci-fi or fantasy for example?
im fairly new as well but I know the basics willing to play if you'll have me
Steven, I'd suggest trying to define what genre you'd like, and apply to specific games. there are fantasy, sci fi, post -apocalypse, all sorts of games. what TV shows or movies or books do you enjoy most?
D&D 3.5e and Fantasy. I know how to get to the videos now, but I have no idea how to play D&D.
Steven, in case you aren't aware, the rules for D&D 3.5 are available for free here: http://www.d20srd.org/ There might be some things in there to get you started. You can also check out our Looking for Group Search Tool to find 3.5 edition games. You can check the box that says "Only find games that welcome new players" to look for new player friendly games.
as a message to the mod team the looking for group search tool works well but in any search even if its something basic like any game on friday, saturday, or sunday you'll get a few results and allot of them will be full. Adding an option like "only games with slots available" would be useful.
im new to pathfinder and i cannot find a group near me so i want to find a group of newer players or a few experienced players that could help me create a char for a campaign and if not maybe just point me in the right direction to help me find a group to play with maybe one shots to help start me off i dont know im looking but im not finding open games sad :)
If you're looking to learn the game while playing a campaign I believe I may be up for DMing for you and a few other new players. I'm not an expert on 3.5 but I've played a few small campaigns and am familiar with the basics and most details. I just started my first time DMing a campaign for some friends and am only a few sessions in. But like I said I'd be willing to start a second one up for you and others who want to learn. Just know that if you want a weekly/bi-weekly/whatever campaign it would have to start sometime mid-late January. Please let me know if you're interested.
To be honest, I just need a few one shots myself. Perhaps Richard could help us with one shots, Joshua, and we could learn together.
Also, Richard, I would like to play tuesdays and thursdays...Or Mondays Wednesdays and fridays. Just because I am new, and I like to keep things fresh in my mind. All of you, my skype is Sfarkas93, so feel free to add me.
