Modules, upgrades and token packs.

So, I'm just curious if this is the direction that you're considering heading, but the whole "Order of the Stick" token pack derailment on a different thread got me thinking about token packs. I've been using a lot of the Devin Night Tokens lately (and buying/uploading extras and freebies from his site) because I like the unified look of having all my tokens using the same art style. It really helps continuity and flow I find, and is a lot less visually jarring than having just a random hodgepodge of "The first random image of a gelatinous cube I happened to stumble across" Anyway. I know one of the proposed revenue streams was selling modules, and I was thinking it would be really slick to be able to have image packs (as well as one-off) available in the store. I'm envisioning something like the iTunes store, where you could buy the whole "album" (where in this case, an album might be a set of 15 different goblins) for, 4.99, or pick and chose single ones for $0.50 (or whatever, I'm just sort of pulling these numbers out of my, well, you know) Then, if there was filtering logic added to the token sidebar, so I could "only display OOTS tokens" when I searched (maybe a drop down or something) it would make it a lot easier & smoother to do a search and stick to my chosen style. Another thought is to have "paid" images show up right in the search, with a little "purchase" button next to them, it would make it a lot quicker when I'm laying out a new dungeon and realize I need a Duergar token and dont have one. One click, bing, take my dollar, or quarter, or handful of skittles (artist variable prices?) and boom, it's in my library and I can drag it out onto the map. With stored cart credentials (Paypal, good) one click buying makes impulse shopping easy and it's fast & convenient to get what you want. Plus, as long as the free search results are still showing up alongside, nobody is being forced to pay (I realize a lot of people will probably chafe at the micro transaction concept) but, for people willing to pay, it can improve the visual quality of your game, add convenience (horay for not having to waste time with google image search & token tool) The same idea can extend to maps, tiles and other various knicknacks. (Fat Dragon Games' 2d tiles -- http://www.fatdragongames.com/fdgfiles/fantasy/2d-tiles/copper-dragon-tiles would make an excellent example, and I'd love to be able to buy digital packs of their tiles to use in world building) Anyway. I'm sure I've rambled enough. I just wanted to throw that out there, start a discussion, see if other people like this idea, have ideas to improve it, or p, if I'm a crackpot who should be drawn and quartered for even daring to suggest something so heinous.
+1 to this. It is kind of what I envisioned for the eventually monitization of Roll20. I think many of us would happily pay for access to good, consistent art work for tokens, maps, etc.
I see this thread. I have read it. I am not saying a word. NOT A WORD.
