For those that came to the game last night, I wanted to express that I did notice the slight glitches we had with the scene's changing, it was our first go and complications tend to permeate the first attempt. However everything else ran smoothly so from here on out we are going to be golden. For those that missed out I figured I would give a run down as to what happened, in hopes to draw people in. This game is set in the world of Noryjin, a continent recovering from 6 decades of war. The game itself is a gothic horror themed game, so it is much darker than many games. But before I get into the story aspect, let's focus on the main characters. Dominic B. Reese: The human rogue born in a brutal world that has had to survive by any means possible. While not a people person he holds the bonds he has managed to make dearly, trying to repay any debts he has procured. While he never served any one flag like most adults he partook in the bloodshed that was the Great War. Rhogar Sermak of Clan Redblade: The Dragonborn warlord that has been entrenched in battle since his early years. Having his rite of passage into adulthood rushed in order to bolster the number of his clans warriors. His hard life is reflected by the scarred and burnt flesh of his face, acting as a reminder to the world he has been born from. Jorrick: The silent yet proud Minotaur warden whom hails from the Plain of Sorrows, a place steeped in horror stories. A harsh land filled with terrible creatures and mysterious weather, it serves to strengthen the Minotaurs that call its confines home. Working to protect the land he remains ever vigil. Thaddeus Von Hasselhoff: The Human cleric of Avandra from the illustious noble house of Von Hasselhoff that is attempting to step out of the shadows cast by his brother and father. Having served in the war for years he is still getting used to life on his own. Seeing the city of Dolkin as a chance to make a name for himself he strives to get a foothold within its confines. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- For a month children in the town Maplecrest have been going missing. Attempting to solve it on their own the people of Maplecrest have had no luck, turning to outside forces for help. Father Cort, the head priest of the church of Avandra in Maplecrest has sought out the aid of his cousin Father Holmvik of Dolkin. Father Cort sent the young man Gregory Jinders to Dolkin to ask for aid. Hearing the plight of the young man as well as his own cousin Father Holmvik then contacted Thaddeus Von Hasselhoff, hoping the youngest member of the famous family would be able to help. Thaddeus was also moved by the story told to him by the young man and agreed to help Maplecrest, setting out to recruit a team of his own. Drawing from the pool of contacts he had made during the war, Thaddeus met with the Dragonborn mercenary Rhogar Sermak of Clan Redblade and enlisted his help. As they left Dolkin the ran into Jorrick, another person whom Thaddeus had contacted, as the minotaur arrived at the city. Joining forces in order to save children, the trio set out for their journey. Meanwhile Dominic had recieved a letter from an old acquaintance from the war named Lindin Holliwell, asking for Dominics help in the matter. Hoping to repay his debt to Lindin, Dominic had traveled to Maplecrest arriving only to discover that Lindin and his wife have gone missing. After investigating the Holliwell household, Dominic discovered a strange black flower held between the pages of a book on horticulture that did not hold any information on the flower itself. Moving to the bedroom of the Holliwells child, Dominic also located some flakes of the same flower in the bed. With more questions than answers Dominic left the house to find someone that could help him identify this strange flower. As he reached the marketplace he spotted Thaddeus, Rhogar and Jarrick leaving the mayors house, the trio leaving their meeting with the mayor after learning some information on the recent abductions. Spotting a shady looking man, Thaddeus quickly moves over to Dominic and begins to interrogate the man on his whereabouts. Determining that Dominic was not the culprit the two groups decided to pool their resources after Jorrick was able to identify the strange flower as a Nightveil, a poisonous flower found in swamps, bogs and the Shadowfell. This information piquing Dominics interest as he had remembered reading about the Harrowsdale Bog which is located a few hours outside of town. Investigating further the group splits up to cover more ground, Thaddeus and Dominic heading to the house of the abduction that took place the previous night while Jorrick and Rhogar headed to the location of the last abduction that took place during the day. After searching the room of Harland Kalip, the boy that was taken from his very bed the night before, Team Human was able to discover another Nightveil flower underneath the childs bed. Much fresher than the one that Dominic found, it seemed as if the flower had been picked the day it was dropped. Meanwhile Team Beast arrived at the Oliver farmstead, the location of the last abduction that took place during the day. After conversing with a child that was playing Hide and Seek with the abducted girl Malserra, Team Beast gleamed to new pieces of evidence. First was that the young girl heard strange laughter, the second piece was a young girls left shoe 12 feet up in a tree. Later discovering that Malserra Oliver was terrified of heights. After further investigations providing them with no real solid evidence, the group decided it would set out for the Harrowsdale Bog, wanting to get as close to it before investigating further the next day. Leaving Maplecrest they entered the Maplecrest Forest, the large maple trees loomining around them. Three hours of walking, brings them off the travelled path into rougher terrain that eventually gives way to a small clearing. As they got about halfway across the clearing, several growls began to rise up within the edges of the trees followed by the appearance of red glowing eyes. Bounding forth from the treeline are several gaunt wolves, covered in molted and matted gray fur. With battle looming, the first chapter of Thursday Night Throwdown came to a close.
