We had a no-show for our first session of Storm King's Thunder. The next game will be played on May 23 (Tuesday) at 7:00PM CST played every other week. I am a new DM myself and do not mind teaching new players the game. The following are some expectations to understand what I would like the game to look like. *Please apply with character combinations from the Players handbook. I would like to keep it simple with all the possible combinations for my first campaign. *Players will have the option to choose either a point-buy calculator or roll 4d6 and drop the lowest die roll (4d6d1) for characters attributes. If you choose to roll your attributes, which I encourage, be warned that the rolls you get are final. If you do not like the idea of potentially getting bad rolls, then use the point-buy calculator. *Have patience. With both myself and the other players. There may be times that I am swamped and not able to prepare as much, I will be doing my best. *Roleplay your character during interactions with the story or with each other (when appropriate) *Try not to interrupt or talk over others mid sentence. *Write a character background that is relative to the campaign setting. *Expect to see a good amount of combat within the module. However I would also like to focus on roleplay aspects of the game in-between combat encounters. (I am totally okay with talking out of character, but I would like for everyone to be able to "turn it off" during RP moments) *Add some flavor to your descriptions during combat! The more creative you can get the better! There may be some things that I am leaving out, but I think this covers how I would like to play. Please remember that these games are meant to be fun! If the expectations that I have described don't fit the type of game you like, I may not be the right DM for you. Please let me know if you are interested and we can chat about your experience and what you want to get out of the game!
