[LFG][5e] GMT+2 Classic High Fantasy Campaign looking for players

Hey so after a couple of months of a break I want to get back in DnD both playing and GMing. So here I would like to offer 4-6 players a spot at my virtual table. Your Profile: Please be 18, my games tend to have mature language and content Newbie or Veteran, I dont care You dont have to be a native speaker but your English should be sufficient enough to have a normal conversation. female players are not only welcomed but I actually enjoyed running games with at least 1-2 women so far since I feel like it often adds some new perspective. So please talk to me if youd like to join. Please be a nice human being, the game should be fun for everyone at the table A couple of things you should probably know before you think about joining. This is not a sandbox game. While players backstories and action obviously affect what happens, the greater story is already in my mind and certain events will happen. Mild story spoilers will be at the end of this post so you can skip if you dont want to read. I started playing and GMing with 3.5 and this also is the system I have the most experience with. I only played 2 campaigns and a couple of one shots in 5e but GMend much more than that ( the GM curse, i guess) I am German and so is my native language but since I lived, studied and worked in the UK my English should be quite fine I prefer Discord over the Roll20 voice chat and would like my players to have some sort of proper setup that ensures decent sound quality. I usually can start playing aroung 6pm and would prefer Thursdays, Fridays or Saturdays. In the past, especially for face-to-face campaigns, I handed out certain task to my players like treasurer, storyteller (someone who provides a brief summary of the last session) and the "rules lawyer", who keeps track of any unusual rulings so players are aware of it and can plan accordingly Yes, I do watch AI, RollPlay and Critical Role, and no I dont worship Mercer as a God. While he is a very good GM, I sometimes disagree with what he does and my style is different since I ie suck at doing voices and dont act out NPC behaviour So now that organisational details are out of the way, we can start with the good part: a bit about the campaign There will be a session Zero for character creation and such. Please think about 2 different races and classes you would like to play so you have the possibility to switch should one combination be very popular. The world will be homebrew and is mostly populated by Humans, Elves, Gnomes, Halflings and Dwarfes. That doesnt mean the other races are banned but are considered exotic at least with upsides and downsides that come along with that. You can play any class from corebooks, while classes or subclasses from other book require approval. No gunslingers. Generally, I would ask you not try to get UA or homebrew content into the game, if you really feel like thats for your character we can talk about it. Also handle feats with care since I like to hand  them out as rewards but at the same time I dont want characters to end up with like 7 feats and if I would reward you with a feat but youve already taken it there wont be any substitute reward. Expect a classic Good vs Evil story with lots of RP, possible intrigue, loyal NPCs and betrayal, secrets to uncover, dungeons to explore, enemies to fight, fame to be gained. So I hope this answers the most important questions and some of you are interested. SPOILERS AHEAD So the world you live in has been invaded by what you would summarise as evil creatures such as orcs goblins and so on for about 50 years now. It hasnt been conquered or defeated but each year they gain more and more ground. After a bit of adventuring and getting to know each other the party will hopefully embark on a journey to learn about the threat it presents, the origin of this invasion, if and how it can be stopped and eventually will attempt a battle to free their home from this dark influence. So I know this isnt very specific or anything but I really dont want to spoil more than that. Hello! I'm quite interested in your campaign, but I do have a few questions: What level are we starting out at?  What kind of stats are we doing (point-buy, rolling, etc)?  When you say corebook, do you mean SCAG too?  How long will be each session? And how often?  Sorry for the inquiries! I'm just curious about some of the details about the campaign, but about me - I'm a 20 year old female college student on the West coast of the good ol'USA, who's both DMed and played for more than a year now. I'm always a sucker for classic fantasy campaigns, and I can guarantee to bring a variety of characters, whether they be male, female, or any class/race to fit the group! 

No worries, questions are there to be answered. So the level depends on the players who join as if there are a lot of new players we probably start lvl 1 and speed up xp a bit in the beginning so they dont get overwhelmed and get to learn step by step. otherwise probably lvl 3 Stats I probably let you choose between standard array or 4d6 drop lowest SCAG would fall under other books that require approval. Core books would PHB DMG MM I aim for 3h sessions at least biweekly/ maybe weekly which means that around 2,5 h i start to look for a good cliffhanger to end the session on just as a reminder for you, this would be a EU game so it will probably end up starting in the morning around 9 am for you

Alright, sounds good with me. I'm pretty much free with any days except for Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays (though I'll be much more free in a few weeks when class is over for the summer).  The two chasacter ideas I have actually uses classes from SCAG, so for character applications, are we just sending it here or somewhere else? I do have a Discord I can definitely send to you if that's an easier way too.

Hello there Autumnus, I'm looking forward to regular Friday, Saturday sessions every other week to roleplay one magic user or another. I'm also GMT +1 based, have been a D&D roleplayer and GM for many years and enjoy classics thoroughly (Forgotten Realms, Middle Earth etc.) I haven't played 5th ed. yet and would like to know if you'd have an "edition-rookie". :) I'm 35 next month and living in Serbia. Sounds quite interesting.  I'm GMT+1 based and available on Thursday and Friday. I have a decent amount of experience most of it 5e and a bit of Numenera and have been playing multiple campaigns for a while. I'm quite flexible with what kind of character I could play. I don't mind any role.

Well hello there i am a 26-year old German, played a lot of 5e and I am involved in a campaign as a gm too but now that got out of hands in a good but work intensive way. That's why i am searching for a change of pace, would love to actually play myself again.... not that i do not like torturing my player but they are a RP heavy group so i have to always come up with totally unexpected things, just roll with it and hope and pray they do not decide to jump down the next random cliff to see what's down there :D love them. Alright i am free on Thursday / Friday (would prefer Thursday). I am a relaxed guy with more interest in talking then hitting people with a club, its part of the game but like in games my charisma stat was always up there. Discord is set up + i have a streaming set up soooo my mic is a good one and i does not sound like i am sitting in a plane ... while it is crashing. Wish you a good night and best of luck.

Heya. For your consideration, I would like to add myself ;) Reading your post got me verry interested in what this game might turn out to be! I am not new to D&D, and watch the same things you mentioned. Im quite glad that you dont worship Mercer, While I agree he's good(Being a professional voice actor is cheating). A lot of his game mechanic choices, and leniency toward cirtain players annoys me a little bit. (Who uses flanking, its way op!) Anyway, weather you start at 1'st or 3'rd, I would to see what kind world you create. Myself, I'm 35, Danish, Not a female, sorry ;). And I have an idea for an elderly tinkering gnome wizzard, who makes things, that sometimes actualy work! (I swear, once I made something that worked!)

Hey everyone, Just a heads up so you know whats going to happen (also bump ;) ) First: if you want to join pls dont delete your posts or i wont be able to find you again. there are at least 2 players i cant find anymore and therefore they cant be considered anymore Secondly: Ive decided on the procedure. On Sunday at some point i will close the application and will message everyone, so even if you cant be in the game you at least get an answer. Invited players will receive a link to the LFG listing so i can add them and also so we can schedule session 0. In the meantime I will schedule some short 1on1 discord sessions with most players (about 15 min) to get to know you prior to session 0. At the moment session 0 is 18th of May at 6pm GMT+2 (sry GMT+1 in the header is wrong since summertime) but there is some room to wiggle

Hello i would love to join your campaign. my experience is 3.5, 4e and little 5e. I live in UK, 32 Years old and would hope i am decent human. Session 0 is on a Thursday will all games be done this day ? Reason i ask is i finish work late on a thursday so would be 30mins late to the start, other days are available but i guess its working out whats best for all before you start to go. As for other things, i have discord and use that for other things so not a issue, i own physical copy of DMG MM and PHB Classes i would like to play are Paladin, Warlock, Barbarian or whatever is needed to fill group. Races i like to pick based on theme for character either it adds to its advantage or plays against its type.  Dwarven Druid for example was quite fun in a game i played where the character wanted to promote natures growth, he thought the dwarves idea of building underground was the divines attempt to preserve the land above. Anyways if you can include me would be great thank you.

Hi there my name is Mikael and im from Sweden and im 35 years old and have been roleplaying and gm:ing since i was around 11 years old , i been playing DnD since way back in 2:ed days but i mostly have experience with 3,5 when it comes to DnD... i run and played in 4 to 5  5:e campaigns so i have a general grasp of the rules Besides my native language i speak fluent english und ich spreche echt gut deutsch =) I dont have so much experience with roll20 but i have got the basics down .atleast i also have discord Now to some questions . will the games also take place on thursdays or is it just the session zero ? will this game be weekly or biweekly , i already have a monday game every week and  a biweekly thursday game every even week How long will this campaign go on for lvl 1 to lvl ?

So i dont know if the game will be weekly or biweekly yet. I really depends on my players but I would probably prefer weekly so if we have to skip a session its not that much of a deal and there wont be 4 weeks between to sessions. The day and time of the game will be decided during session 0 and even the session 0 can still change once i invited players. I just choose this because on the one hand i had to fill in something for the lfg listing and on the other hand I am at a stag do on saturday as the best man and have to leave around 7am so in the upcoming week Friday and Saturday just dont work I guess the campaign will at least reach lvl 12ish but i really dont know how much time players are going to spend with sidequests and exploring so I havent created any endgame content yet like bosses and such but will do so once the party is further in the story

Hello there. My name is Bogdan (or Alex if it's too hard to pronounce :P). Turned 29 today. If you still have room i would love to join. I am totally new to D&D or any other table top rpg so i am not familiar with rules but i have watched some videos and get the flow of the game. I have no problem with familiarizing myself with whatever rules are needed. I have no expectations when it comes to my character so i have no problem writing either a detailed background for it or keeping it simple and can fill for the party both in terms of race/class or personality for rp. All three of the days are fine for me as i am gmt +2 (Romania). Although fair warning i will be away from 9th june to 18th june. As i am very new to tabletop rpgs i will ask for patience for a session or two until i get my bearings. If you are willing to put up with a new player i would love to begin my experience into the world of tabletop rpgs with you. If not i still wish you a good campaign.

My experience is restricted to Pathfinder/3.5 so far and I guess I shoud be considered a newbie, but am very eager to learn and play! So everyone should have a message by now. I just would like to say that I received far more application than I could have players in a game and so most of my decisions came down to scheduling. Also maybe as a piece of advise for everyone who applied or just randomly is reading this: Try to give information about yourself when applying such as Who you are. Where are you from, What is your P&P experience so far. Which days you are available. Write about things the GM mentioned (In this example I asked that you have a decent sound setup) All of those help a GM to consider you as a potential player since they actually remember you application. Thats all for this so if a wandering Mod sees this, you can close this (I dont know if thats a thing here)
