In order for me to DM do I have to buy the D&D Campaigns from (example The lost Mines of Phandevler) Roll20 or can I upload others from other purchased sites ?

Buying a module just lets you create campaigns that're already set up to run that particular module. If you have the content yourself, and the time and inclination, you could certainly create it yourself.
So if I bought a campaign from say Amazon could that be loaded into Roll20 ?

Marc D. said: So if I bought a campaign from say Amazon could that be loaded into Roll20 ? You have to do the "leg work" whatever that may entail to get into roll20.  If this is a hard copy, it may involve scanning maps and images and copying text to import into roll20, as well as creating pc's, npc's, monsters, linking tokens to said sheets, creating attacks, etc. just to make it playable on roll20.  This can be a lot of work.  The campaigns you buy on roll20 are setup to run on roll20.  Much of the work is already done for you.

You would have to take what you purchase on amazon and upload the maps (and tokens if supplied in that purchase) manually yourself then do all the work on setting up your tokens, dynamic lighting, journals, etc. Just remember that anything you upload manually (not purchased on roll20) counts against your storage quota also. If you purchase the module on roll20 then it is all predone for you and you should be able to run it from the get go (there are some errors and glitches in some of the modules but there are bug threads for them and those modules are being updated).
