Hiya, Please think over between now and Friday what you would like to ask me and/or discuss with your fellow players during our session zero this week. Here's what I have in mind to bring up and get your feedback. Thanks! Your Characters If you haven’t sent me your character sheet and backstory tying
you to being at Port Tooga, please do so by Sunday, May 21 st . Please send me the PC artwork if you haven’t done so yet. If you sent me an OggDude or pdf file, I can’t
extract the picture from that. You can have until the end of session 3 to do minor character
generation adjustments to your character.
After that, I’ll consider your character sheet final. Do you have the key skills covered by someone? Any character generation questions? We can talk separately later if you need any one-on-one help.
Party Ship I’m leaning towards having one of you owning a ship at the
start of the game. Probably the character with the highest Piloting-Space skill and has a career like a smuggler so that it makes story sense. Any issues with someone being the captain and having the
final say on ship issues? What kind of ship would you like to have? I’m assuming a silhouette 4 freighter of some
kind with some available hardpoints for future modifications. I was thinking of offering up five starting ships to choose from by posting pictures and stats in the Roll20 game forum. Game Mechanics & House Rules Other than how I want to bring in obligation and duty as part of the story rather than roll for it, I don't think I have any significant house rules. Clarification: My understanding of rules as written is that on a successful combat hit you add your weapon's base damage plus any uncancelled successes. So, if you got two successes on a roll, that would be your base damage plus 2 points of damage. Some people think you would only add 1 damage. I'm not as comfortable with ship combat and the rules for mods as I would like to be. Along with narrating what triumphs look like, I may also ask you to describe an environment or what the final hit on a NPC looks like. Let's try to narrate combat as much as possible rather than just say things like, "I pass an advantage to the next PC character." I was thinking of doing almost all of my GM roles out in the open on Roll20. Would you rather 100% of them be done in the open? This might be a house rule. If the GM spends a destiny point, I allow the players to also spend a destiny point before my roll (and vice versa) if you want to offset/mitigate what I roll or add to the narration of the game. Scheduling 6/2, 6/16, 6/30 are our next sessions – Every other Friday (approximately) after that 7:00 PM ET –
11:00 PM ET. Hopefully we can play at least twice each month. Please try really hard to make the first three sessions. Any conflicts, vacation known at this point? Session Notes I'd like someone to take notes during the session for posting on
Roll20 as a record of the game and if someone has to miss a session they can
read up. One person does or take turns? Bullet points preferred.
Around 10 – 20 bullet points should be plenty. Can add 1 or two pictures to the notes if you want. Post no later than 24 hours before our next session. I’ll give out +5 XP if the notes for the prior session were posted. Bonus XP to just the one player that did the notes or to the whole party if taking turns? What
would you like to experience/see in the game? Theater of the mind versus map grids and tokens? PCs play as the good guys, neutral, or bad guys? Party cohesion. How much combat do you want? Wish list items like a certain planet, meet a certain NPC, fight an AT-ST, etc.?
