[LFP] RIFTS!!

It has been quite some time since I have dusted off the Rifts library, but there is no time like the present! I am building a Rifts campaign and I am looking for interested players. From what corners of the Megaverse will heroes heed the call? About Me Hi, I'm Chris! I have been a DM/GM/Storyteller (and happily a player, too!) of a number of table-top role-play systems over a period of 20 years, but I am new to Roll20. I am also an experienced creative writer and thespian (formally schooled in both), lending to my passion for role-play gaming. While these things are highly important to me and integral to my role-play experience, I'm not wont to take myself too seriously in these regards (or many others, for that matter) because the name of the game is, most assuredly, fun! Who Should Join? Ideally, experienced and mature role-players with knowledge of the Palladium system are preferred. New players and experienced role-players with no knowledge of the Palladium system are perfectly welcome and I am happy to teach the system and to coach new players. Maturity will be a requirement of all players, experienced and new, as I prefer my games to be for adults and to contain adult themes. The Campaign While the campaign is ultimately still in the concept stage, I definitely want players to feel as though they have the whole Megaverse of options to choose from when building their characters. Please take the time to build a character concept that speaks to your play style and brings something exciting to the table. I will work with you to make sure your character's back-story has a way to fit into the concept and I am eager to see what you come up with! I may, however, disallow some OCC's and RCC's (especially ludicrous homebrew stuff) as we discuss character concepts. Chances are if you've got a solid character concept and can present a good backstory, I'll allow it.

I would love to join, depending on day/time.   I just hope you arent allowing the other palladium systems into RIFTS, kinda quit playing after most of the group I was in kept making Hero's Unlimited and Nightbane characters in RIFTS...

Do u still have room new to rifts want to learn experience in a so far 1 session of Dnd 5e with the next session tomorrow,1 or 2 sessions of 3e,then quite a few sessions of someone's custom system 

Wow, I'm glad to see interest! @EK - Thank you, I will check that out! @Dorlar - I'm leaning toward Sunday or Monday evening, but it is up for negotiation. @HungryGnome - I had considered allowing it, but the concept and backstory would have to be good. There are a number of well written NPCs who came to Rifts Earth from other Palladium worlds. I understand where you are coming from, though; why would you keep rolling HU characters with so many cool OCC's and RCC's to play in Rifts? Just go play HU! @Ares of Mars - Of course! Watch this space! I'm going to seriously put in the work to flesh out the campaign beginnings, guys! I've been pouring over the library I have and have gotten some NPCs going. Any of you can PM me if you want to start talking about characters or have any specific questions.

I have fond memories of playing a Leyline Walker Mage, a heroes unlimited conversion man of metal, and a samus pilot. Will check back here or apply for a future game depending on the time slot.

I'd kill to have a campaign to regularly attend here on R20, if you end up doing it on Sunday then I have a friend who'd also be happy to participate  

It was also a matter of some of the Hero's and nightbane stuff is WAY too powerful compared to even cosmo knights.  Dimensional energy blasts usable at will, ripping open rifts to hell at will? yeah.... My ley line walker will never be able to compare to that...

Interested but would like the campaign/setting to be narrowed rather than everything is usable.  Just an opinion from my experience of playing and gming.

@ Teddy F. - I hear you, removing the limitations from players in a game as absurd as Rifts can be something a GM may regret, but I have a specific concept I have wanted to put into action for a couple years. If it goes well and everyone has fun with it, then HUZZAH! If not, scrap it and go for something more specific...like the Siege on Tolkeen or something already framed out in one of the World Books. While I'm encouraging players to choose from the spectrum of OCCs and RCCs available, I still reserve the right to decline a character concept if it is TOO nuts, especially if more modest concepts are put forth by the rest of the party. However, to prelude the concept for you all to consider and/or discuss, you would all start off in the slave pens of Splynn and even though a wide range of OCCs and RCCs are encouraged, some powers (especially those that would allow a player to easily escape) would be nullified until the players can secure their freedom.

Very interested in joining.  Monday would be a better night for me, but i'm flexible.  I'm not super experienced with the original Rifts rules, but i do have the books.

It's been a long time since I've touched RIFTS, but I really liked the concept of the megaverse, in addition to the in-depth character creation rules. Color me interested.

whats the timezone im in the UK here and have played a lot of rifts had an atlantian ley line walker and a full conversion borg in different games
