Hi I have a game where there are multiple threads . I only want to get reminders /emails from some of these. Is this possible and how do I do it

Notifications are global for in game forum threads not selective. You can go to your account and enable the email notifications but still it is global. There is a suggestion thread  Overhaul site notifications that you can vote on and comment in.
