Virtual Table hardware

Our Table has a regular Wednesday night game where at least one of our players is virtually present, and we need our hardware optimized. We have frequent audio drops (may be a bad headset, plan to replace), and video drops from both Roll20, and Hangouts.  At the table where most of us are we have a dedicated laptop  with a wired omni-directional mic (way better than the build in one). What other pieces of gear might make the experience less frustrating?
Bandwidth seems to be the main thing with the chat. Of course clearing your browser cache and all of the other standard trouble shooting stuff like turning it off and on...
