LFM - Plane Shift Zendikar Weekly Group

Hello, my name is Cody. I've been playing video games, ever since I was four. I have a Bachelor's majoring in Game and Simulation Programming. I've created a few games (not triple AAA or anything of the sort) for PC. Regardless, I'm starting this campaign as a warm-up for my real life group. It delves into Magic the Gathering's Zendikar plane. You can play a new planeswalker or any of the characters from Unearthed Arcana/PHB/Volo's. I don't mind what type of character you make up, even if it is a Revised Ranger Aarakocra (made a character like this myself going into Beastmaster Conclave with a Giant Poisonous Snake to sap his venom). This is a campaign that goes through the Forgotten Realms a bit through a means of traveling into the Zendikar plane. Yes, this is a chance to delve into Zendikar of Magic the Gathering lore with D&D 5e rules. It is some what homebrew; and then, the players will follow the Battle for Zendikar to Oath of the Gatewatch storyline. After that, there is the new story line that will be jumped right into for the Return to Zendikar. Overall, this campaign has three arches; and it will take a long time to finish. Players will start at level 10. A good bit of random encounters to specific ones designated within the campaign. Within the first arch, you have a contract to fulfill within a time limit; but you can complete them, however, you want in whichever order. In essence, the campaign will see players reaching level 18-19 going into the third arch. Heads up though, Zendikar is a place where everything is trying to kill you; and healing potions are scarce. Most healing comes from magical healers. To be safe traversing through the wilds, you will need a guide. Unless your brave and bold, you can adventure without the need of a stinky goblin/troll guide. However, the path will be treacherous with an encounter maybe around every corner. Times could change somewhat depending on who joins and if they are alright with it; but the times would be after 12:30 to a max of 2:30. Whatever will work best for the group. Also, the time for this is Saturday's CST between 12:30 and 2:30 pm. Picks will be sent out this coming Thursday; and Interviews as well as character setup will be done on Friday. All ready to start Saturday. If still interested, leave an application.
Now, I will allow for people to become Planeswalkers. http://77studios.blogspot.com/2016/05/planeswalker... Go to the site above, I will accept this version. I do not mind players using Unearthed Arcana, which will include all the official books as well. In addition, you can include in your character's inventory one legendary item and one uncommon item. Name: Age: Experience: Character Race: Level: 1 (We will level up your character after chosen in the game for stat and roll wise.) Background Story (Not necessary; but extra points to me choosing you over others, if I like the it): I just noticed that people weren't able to post in the forums. So if you want to post your application here, I will keep track.

Name: Mike Age: 25 Experience: Little to none Character Race: Charlatan Tiefling Warlock
Name: Anthony Age: 32 Gender: Male Timezone: GMT Experience: I am currently playing three roll20 campaigns and have been playing 5e for quite a few months now. I started officially playing Dungeons and Dragons at 5e but have been a follower of the genre for many years. Play style: My play style is ranged based support/healing in most of the campaigns I currently play (currently a support based paladin, a sorcerer favoured soul and a bard in my existing games). I prefer to be more of the edges of the battlefield rather than charging in full throttle in melee. As a player I tend to play quiet calculating types usually taking all the information in and making comments where necessary. I enjoy RPing (even though I am still quite new at it) and try my best to improve on It when I can. I note that there has been a Druid application been made above. However I am going to list two characters, one Druid and one Cleric that fit my play style and will thematically fit with the campaign. I will be more than happy to use either the Druid or the Cleric to best suit the party composition. These backstories will be short at the risk of becoming overzealous but will be expanded upon should I be successful. Druid Application Character Name: Sinestri Character Race: Half Elf Background: Far Traveller Level: 1 Circle of the Land Druid Background Story (Not necessary; but extra points to me choosing you over others, if I like the it): Sinestri was orphaned at a young age due to the mysterious disappearance of his parents. Despite those around him coming to the conclusion that his parent had died Sinestri has never given up hope that his parents would one day be reunited with him. Sinestri had always grown up with a strong affinity towards nature and this showed in his mannerisms. Sinestri would be as calm as the ever still waters one moment but when something rubbed him up the wrong way he would become as aggressive as a storm. The balance of peace and anger within his personality was as ever changing as nature itself. Upon his many adventures as a traveller he sought refuge with a group of Druids and it was there that he began to learn the ways of harnessing nature bending it to to his will and using it to protect those he considered allies and destroy those who would wish him harm. Sinestri decided that the best way for him to gain more druidic knowledge and power would be to become a fully-fledged adventurer and put himself into positions that would test his ability to harness nature. He decided to set off and join as many adventuring quests as possible with the hope of gaining knowledge, wielding power, and even perhaps seek clues as to the whereabouts of his parents. Cleric Application Character Name: Helios Character Race: Half Elf Background: Acolyte turned Adventurer Level: 1 Cleric Background Story (Not necessary; but extra points to me choosing you over others, if I like the it): As a devoted Cleric of the God Lathander Helios was extremely excited to be chosen for adventure. Helios was an acolyte in his local Parish and spent many years raising the ranks as a renowned Cleric. His community adored him and he was always there to help out those less fortunate. Always looking out for his fellow man he was meditating one day when a vision appeared to him from the God of Light himself, or at least this is what Helios believes. Helios is convinced that Lathander came to him during a meditation and gave him a vision. During this vision Lathander reached out to Helios and told him that he has a mission, to bring the Light and the Purity of Lathander to the furthest lands of this earth. He told Helios that there were many evils in the world spreading corruption and bringing an ever growing darkness to the world and as a Cleric of Lathander it was his duty to extinguish that light. Overcome by this new sense of purpose Helios decided to set off for adventure, his first adventure ever. Helios knew that whatever trials and tribulations lay infront of him that he would be protected by the Light of Lathander and as long as he could help others and do good that no adventure would be too big or too small.
Hello Name - Robert DnD Experience - I played a lot of AD&D in high school and university, and have recently gotten back into 5E and am loving it. Character name - Sir Damekos Weary Character race - Tiefling Character class - Paladin Character Alignment - Lawful Good A brief backstory - Sir Damakos Weary is the heir of an ancient noble family of human and half elven stock. His mother caused a scandal by having an affair with a Tiefling of Asmodos then compounding her offence by falling in love with him, marrying him, and having a Tiefling heir. Sir Damakos struggles to prove himself a just man, worthy of nobility, managing his family lands, and serving and protecting his family vassals. He has a scar running from his left eye to his jaw from dueling with other young nobles who dared to question his family honour. He is secretly torn between his desire to uphold justice, and his secret pangs and carnal desires, that he gets from his Tiefling heritage, or could it come from his beautiful mothers blood? I enjoy the chance to role play our way out of sticky situations instead of just rolling for initiative for every person we meet outside of town. I also enjoy using abilities, spells, and tactics to survive a tough combat. I take my hobbies seriously and if I set some time away to do them I show up unless there is a true emergency. I understand and respect that others have set aside their time too and don't want to see it wasted by no shows. I also try to role play and encourage all the players to have their time in the spotlight and help them accomplish their own enjoyment of the game. I can play other characters if necessary, and particularly enjoy playing wizards, bards, paladins, or others. Thank you for considering me for your game, and I look forward to hearing from you. Cheers, Robert

Name: Jorge Age: 22 Experience: I've played and DMed various games for 3 years, most in Roll 20. I love to play my character's role and play it well. So to get my character to do something I need some in-game rationale~ Character Race: Half Elf Level: 1 Bard (I will multiclass though with more emphasis in Warlock rather than Bard, That's just where my character starts.) Background Story: Vexikos (Vex for short/to anyone else) was born into the Noxifaen clan of witches, a sect of magic users (Mostly Female) who forge covenants/contracts/pacts with extradimensional beings of great power. Each pact is unique and has its own terms, not necessarily binding the witches all to the same duty, though for most that is the point. These pacts are made to promote freedom of the self by choosing the being who best suits you and not being forced into an agreement that would cause you to feel restrained. You patron is your partner, your greatest ally, and the one you will forever be bound to. The clan’s membership is determined by a combination of birthdate, star-sign and possible birthmarks. As such sometimes new members are born out of the clan, and their parents are invited to join the community of the clan to continually be involved in the chosen child’s life. Sometimes a witch will bear a child who is unchosen, this child is raised amongst the community still, but will not be taught the ways of magic as the witches know them. Vex was lucky enough to be born to Saima, a witch of the clan and was also one of those selected to become a witch. In his younger years, he opted to learn music, which was encouraged by his mother and the clan as all who joined were encouraged to discover magic in their own ways. He grew to the age of fifteen, a tall, lithe, musical half-elf. It was at this time he began to discover magic through song, and studied further into the subject over the next five years. At the age of twenty Vex journeyed out to discover his patron. Through meditation, travel and a little chance he came upon a circle of standing stones in the woods. He studied these stones for a few days, and sensed the aura of magic around them. He kept watch over the stars and moon phases, determining when would be the best time to see when the best time to attempt a summoning might be. The Faer-folk dance, the Faer-folk sing, the Faer-folk step in the magic ring…. Tread not there ‘till the light of day, lest the faer-folk steal your soul away… Vex returned under a full moon to seek his patron, harp in hand and bearing the gifts he felt would win the favor of one who he would seek to be partners with. Upon seeing the standing stones he saw a field of shimmering silver blue and violet lights under the moon. He had expected as much and entered the ring to find himself no longer in the realm of mortals. He found himself standing among tall and wondrous people. Dressed in robes of shimmering gold, silver, green, they almost looked to be made of light, with large wings that could have been crystal where thy not so thin. He was quickly looked upon and judged, they knew he was no Fae and did not care for a mortal’s intrusion. The Hierarchy of the Fae looked down on him and spoke of punishment. But then, one voice rang apart from the others. It would seem this part-Fae has come to court. A bold move for one of so little blood, but at least you’ve come bearing gifts…. The one who spoke was a tall Fae, his skin, rather than the light hue, had a pearly blue tint to his skin, long silvery hair and wings that were black as night, he wore robes of dark blue and purple skies. A Dark Lunar Fae named Kuuvägi. Well, what have you brought?... Nightshade, Amethyst… Oooh, is the lyre for me too?... Then why bring it if not a gift?... Performer?... Sing us a song then…. Vex felt nervous, was this Fae toying with him? What of the Fae Court who was watching this exchange with faces of annoyance and what might have been frustration. I offer you nothing, and take only that which is free… I’d give you a life full of risk, And the whirlwind of joy that can be… Don’t try to bind me, just love me, without any greed, and I’ll give you the world, and my heart, and the air that I breathe…. Slip the jesses my love, This hunter you own from the hood to the glove… That was when Kuuvägi held up his hand with a smirk and a chuckle. Hehe, that’s enough of a promise for me. I guess I’ll take you as my own- This was met with a displeased uproar from the court. Last time I checked, you don’t get to decide what I do. He’s mine, and since he’s mine, he can be here~ The night went on with many awkward and displeased glares. Before long Vex was absconded to Kuuvägi’s realm of the fairyland. An open modest palace of marble, with a sky of stars at all times with a pale blue moon overhead. Here Vex stayed and came to terms with the Fae. You will be mine in this life and the next. If your blade should fell a mortal, their souls are to be mine. The physical touch of another is a necessity, but will cost the hand that touches’ life. Should you be felled and I intervene, your debt must be repaid in flesh before you return. The bargain was struck, and as payment for being saved from the wrath of the Fae Court, Vex pain the flesh debt to his patron, the time was uncountable, and as it slipped by Vex found more and more that this patron was indeed the one he’d set to find, though not in the way he’d imagined. Vex trained with Kuuvägi for what felt to be ten years, learning magic and combat skills from his partner and growing closer in bond. When the day came for him to return, he was thirty, just starting his adult life. The parting was not without sorrow, Kuuvägi then gifted Vex with his focus, a silver amulet with a crescent moon imbued with three blue pearls, in the hook of the moon was a pentacle which had an amethyst set in the center. Vex returned to the mortal plane, to find it had only been one night since he had departed. Ten years he had lived in the Fae-realm only to return the morning after. (Vex sends souls to his patron by touching the amulet, it glows with a violet light that pulses a little with each soul absorbed, doesn’t have to yield a bonus, it’s just a flavor text thing that he does to be more detailed)
Name : Will Age : 18 Gender : Male Timezone : GMT +1 Play style : Massive fan of RP. I love to have a lot of relations. Good or bad, doesn't matter. I always look for opportunities to steal stuff and I love taking risks. Best D&D Experience : I was told that the basement of this bar had a lot of expensive stuff. So a friend of mine started a huge barfight for no reason, throwing kegs at the bartender and knocking out random people, just so I could sneak in the basement and investigate. When I succesfully sneaked down there, I rolled a 1 and didn’t find anything.. It had the whole team laughing :D Any Additional information:I'm kinda new to DnD, I've had a couple of sessions so I may be pretty questioning about rules/rolls. Been roleplaying in WoW before, so I am not completely new to roleplaying. Character Name : Rex '' The Shadow '' Smokes Race : High-Elf Class : Rogue Age : 28 Background :Urchin Backstory : Born in a town full of stealing, murder, mugging, and so on. My mother was sick, and my family hated me, yet I loved them with my whole heart. They only fed me till I turned 5, and that's when my thief life started. I had to steal food and make criminal friends to survive. I got taught how to mug people, climb, escape and steal. At the age of 17, I had enough of that town so I fled from that place and now I live here and there. I am usually known among the crimes in the towns ive been to, and wanted by the civilian people.

My name is Tom and I am 32 y/o from the Seattle area who has been playing roleplaying games for nearly 20 years. I have been playing Roll20 every Saturday morning (PST) for almost two years now. You can count on me showing up reliably and participating nearly every week. I always try to remember this is a game and the purpose is to have fun. I can't stand drama and I try to inject a lot of humor into the characters I play. However, I also like to focus on progressing the story and characters, and I feel it's important not to goof off so much that it distracts from moving the game forward I'm interested in a long-term game with a group of respectful players who want to build a great fantasy experience. together Most games I have played wrapped up around levels 8-12, so I am especially interested in playing a game shooting for higher levels. I really prefer not to pick a character backstory or even a class without collaborating with the DM. I have literally dozens of backgrounds and character ideas ready to go, so it seems silly to pick one without having a deeper discussion of the setting and the needs of the party. So if you feel I am a good fit let me know and we can talk over some ideas! Thank you for your consideration.
1 . Name, age, time zone: Inigo, 21, CST, relatively free in the evenings after 6 PM and generally any weekend after noon. 2 . Experience: Relative newbie, sat in on some games before but I understand if you want someone with their feet on the ground, 3 . Character Name: Cottar 4. Race: Lightfoot Halfling 5. Class: Rogue, Neutral 6. Background: Cottar has always been loyal to his allies and those who watched his back, but as far as the rest of the world is concerned? They caln all kindly take a trip to the river Styx. His habit of sticky fingers has gotten into more trouble than it's worth but how else would he support himself and his ailing aunt? Aye she's the only family he has left, but woefully ignorant of his criminal past with a notorious gang of former friends. Friends, sure until they stabbed him in the back, quite literally. May Aunt Malva never discover the truth. 7 . Playstyle : I've only a passing familiarity with Dnd but I've seen games before, I'm into Critical Role, and you'll find I'm a quick learner. I've experimented a bit with the Roll20 interface but my playstyle would tend towards role-playing heavy, with a glee for exploring and getting into mischief.
