[LFGM]Scion[Weekly, EST, Evenings]

Game : Scion Time : Wednesday, Weekly, EST Evenings (tentative) Players : 3 with the potential to increase Looking For : GM. Not currently looking for players at this time. LFG Listing : https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/81157/lfgm-scion Hi there! Myself and some friends have been wanting to play a game of Scion for a little while now, and after some discussion, I thought we should put some feelers out to see if there is a GM willing to take on the challenge. We're all veteran players, though I think at this point only one person (myself) has experience with Scion. Given that it was originally created and owned by White Wolf, it's pretty straight forward system and character creation wise, so I'd be happy to help with getting things set up. Right now, we have 3, possibly 4, players interested, and could likely find one or two more rather easily once we know what the comfort level of the GM is. We're all the types of players who value good story and excel when given roleplay opportunities. None of us are prone to min-maxing/munchkin style playing, so you won't find any murder hobos in this group! Here are the currently interested players(I will nudge the others to introduce themselves in this thread): Bloodied Porcelain , Ozothoth , Micah NOTE : This is NOT going to be a paid opportunity, though if anything is needed to play (tokens, maps, whatever), most of us would likely be willing to make donations or help the GM find things (my Google-fu is quite strong).
Player Intro: Bloodied Porcelain Hi there! I'm Bloodied Porcelain, usually called BP or Porcelain. I've been playing table top RPGs for 21 years now and writing is more than just a hobby... it's my job as well! As such, I adore Roleplaying because it presents a unique, interactive method to tell stories as a group rather than one person telling the story while the others simply listen. I am usually the player who lapses in to long silences while others have their moment to shine, and only speak up if I feel I have something worthy of contributing. I played Scion some years ago originally before there was a long spell of not being able to play for one reason or another for years, and have recently decided to pick it back up. My preferred pantheons are the Tuatha, Aesir, and Loa. I usually lean toward social or mental characters, and rarely chose to play "badass" types in the strictest sense. I am a mythology junky, having grown up reading myths and studying the societies that spawned them, so while I'm not willing to be the one to run the game most of the time, I'm always happy to be a sounding board or reference point.
Player Intro: Ozothoth I'm not wonderful at writing about myself, but I don't think "I liek 2 play gaems" is going to be sufficient, so here goes: I'm Ozothoth, Oz for short, and I've been playing tabletop RPGs for...errr....25 years or so? It started with the classic "red box" Beginner's set for D&D back when I was a kid. I sort of graduated up the scale of D&D until 3.5 was over, then moved to Pathfinder. For a few years around 2007 or so I was heavily into the different White Wolf games (the only ones we never got far into were Wraith and Changeling) but we kind of bailed on that just before all the "2012 apocalypse" payoff happened. But I really owe White Wolf for pointing me at the idea that a character is more than a collection of stats (because let's face it, olden D&D really didn't lend itself to that). I'm not familiar with Scion, to be honest, but I like to think I'm a quick study and the concept behind it fascinates me. I'm a bit of a Neil Gaiman/American Gods fan so this sounds right up my alley. What I'm really into is a good group chemistry first, and I'll do whatever I can to help that along. After group dynamics I just like the opportunity to build unforgettable stories with cool people, even if it all ends disastrously. :) I usually lean towards either "badasses" or face-y social types, but even when I make the badass I try to give them depth and purpose, and I try to stay away from cliche or caricature. And I also have a bad habit of giving GMs a lot of ammo to use against me when I build a backstory. Also, I can be a snarky ass, but only in good fun. :)
Player Intro: Micah Hey, I'm Micah. I've been playing tabletop role-playing games since 1990, starting with Shadowrun and branching out into myriad others: D&D, TSR Marvel, TORG, and a bunch of others. I'm a special fan of hero genre games, as well as Star Wars, but what I love are games where I can customize and be as creative as possible. While I haven't played Scion before, I do own a hard copy of the main book, and have read through it at least a few times. I'm really looking forward to playing, and hope we can get a game going some time soon. As for what kind of player I am... well, I do enjoy a good laugh, so expect bad puns and a few pics or animated gifs here and there. I love playing intelligent characters, irreverent characters, stoic and tragic characters, and techies. I'm good with team dynamics, and often look to fill gaps in the roster, when there are some. Smartass: check. Mildly paranoid: check. Vocal characterizations: check. You should hear my Mark Hamill Joker voice. Likes: Short walks to the fridge for flavored water or ice cream Comfortable chairs Cinematic successes in combat NPC relationships Dislikes: Radishes Spring-coil mattresses RNGeesus, God of random die rollers Railroading If I am selected as your Miss D20, I solemnly vow to feed the hungry zombies, clothe the Rule 34 video game characters, and bring whorled peace to all. ...wait, what?
Player Intro: Fyndhal Hi! I'm Fyndhal, also know as Floyd in the Real World. I've been playing RPG's since 1981 when I tracked down a copy of the Player's Handbook after having read a novel called The House Between the Worlds that featured Dungeons and Dragons heavily. From D&D, I got into many, many other RPGs - Top Secret, Villains and Vigilantes, Champions, Space Opera, Traveler, Runequest, etc, etc, ad nauseum. My experience with Scion is limited. I was invited to play in a game a few years back but the GM decided he didn't have time to run it at the last minute. About a year ago, I was in a Scion game here on Roll20 for a few sessions, but ended up leaving after deciding I was not a good fit for that gaming group. In terms of gaming style, I like a good mix of role play and action. I tend to build action oriented characters rather than "planners" or "socialites" but I'm not the sort who chafes at long RP scenes. Unless they last twelve hours. I might start getting antsy then. :) I do have one bad habit - I link reaction gifs during game and sometimes it disrupts things. So, that's me. Here's hoping we game together! PS: Unlike Micah, I happen to be on good terms with RNGesus, even when the dice roller screws me.
