When you are ready to build your character use the following information: After real life schedules are considered for the formation of groups, the next step in playing in my world will be character creation . Reply to this thread and I will create a character sheet for you in game. I would please ask to not bring in a prewritten, written in ink preconceived character without any thought to who you will be grouped with. Each party has its own narrative to which each player over time adds to the canvas of the game world. I know its hard with a home brew document, but I would encourage you all to try to have some kind of geopolitical stance with agency into the world of Collbaris. Please include ties to up to 3 NPC's that you create within the fabric of Collabris. For example, your mom who lives in Oakshadow, your best friend who works at an Inn in Orton and that dude who stole your girlfriend and will never forgive. You think he lives in Redknife. That's more than enough for me to have you save your mom and get the girl you plan to wed. Please don't go into extreme details about small background details with your character. You can always write as much as you would like but extreme details can be cumbersome. I want big broad strokes and not a 2000 word backstory you insist i read. Just make the juice worth the squeeze. I may sound crazy here but I have endured many bad players. Playing on the internet means running into players who sometimes want to: Reenact Old Man Henderson and trash bomb the campaign in order to ruin the fun of the game for everyone. Try to sneak attack with a great sword and call it legal. Attempt to steal my player base. Being absent to the game with your microphone "Accidentally" on and then come home and have sex, as we are mid session, trying to figure out how to boot your ass. Secretly share player knowledge that should be secret. You can do this in game. You can not do this. The list of poor player behavior goes on. Regardless to say do these things and you will be removed without notice Playing on the Internet part II : Technobabble I manage 3 games a week and have little time to directly teach people about Roll 20 and Dungeons & Dragons 5E. I do so every session but my power and time is not limitless. As such check out these great videos on the you tube! Taking20 Roll20 Master Class a comprehinsive Roll20 training suiete for DMs and players Web DM Complete 5e Classes Series - Web DM How to be a Great Game Master Great Role Player - Tips to be a better Role Player and Player Character in your TTRPG The above are all great resources I encourage you guys to check out! It will save me hours. Stat Arrays Now that unpleasant nonsense is over, pick from the following stat arrays. I haven't heard too many complaints yet. Yes you make place each stat listed in a given array into any statistic! The Generalist 14/14/14/14/14/14 The Jack of all Trades 15/15/15 13/13/13 The Hero 17/16/15/14/13/12 The Specialist 18/16/14/12/10/8 Level & HP New players shall begin at level one unless otherwise instructed. You should expect to level up to wherever the group you join i, minus a level. Maybe two if your going with something my inner power gamer considers a little too much power mongering. My general policy, with exceptions, is to place a player at the same level as the lowest level player in the party with the minimum experience total for that level. Feel free to take the static HP. Give yourself the background and class starting gear and an additional 35 gold, 30 of which you must spend or forfeit. Magic item to be determined but its usually on the lighter side of things. Official WOTC content only guys. If you have something else you want to do such as something in the unearthed arcana, just ask me for the green light. I am usually pretty cool about things unless your trying to add your Dex Wis AND Con to your armor class. I have a lot of patience but with an ever growing player pool this game it is important to respect the restrictions that the player who have been here for six months have abide and will continue to abide by. Conduct & Citizenship This is a Community and as we grow I would ask long time players to grow the community by considering becoming a Dungeon Master to expand the game beyond the current 5 groups of 5 players. Also as you play over the course of time will become a wealth of knowledge to new group members and by inviting your friends to the game. Strive to set an example of good player behavior so we can all enjoy a fantastic game! As always if you have any questions feel free to ask. Communicators We will best hosting games on Discord I hope your cool with that. I will get you a link to discord when we link up live. Have Discord and be ready! Character Journals If you don't know already I want everyone to journal the game until i can figure out how to record our game sessions. Even then I wont be able to work as much as I would like, being a Dm 2 to 3 nights a week is a workload, I work full time ontop of it, thus editing audio and video in the form of screen capture is a lot. As your characters grow, travel, and interact in the Spinelands I really hope you all jot down some super basic notes. BROAD STROKES with notes on time spent. My world operates with its own Game Time. If you meet and NPC and hate him, write it down, figure out where he lives, write it down, discover that this evil powerful fuck has a pet kitten same Sir Fluffy. Write it down. Then kill the kitten and share it all with the rest of Collabris!! Your DM takes the power of the written word into effect by weaving player notes into the game world document. The best way to chronicle your character journal would be on homebrewery.com It looks great, is super easy to use, and you can share it with whomever. Also if you want to write 1000's of word about your time spent with us it will slow the performance of your character sheet and ultimately the game. Just put the hyperlink on your character sheet and then anyone with permission to your sheet can take the hyperlink over to your notes. With such a large game world engine doing this will make your notes look great be easier to read and not slow your character sheet down. Hombrewery.com Its hosted on the net for free and is a great way to share the content. Plus I can cut and paste from your notes into the Collabris Main Document!
