Dynamic Lighting / LoS - Objects that block vision will never be visible themselves?

Hello, I am trying to think of the best way to use dynamic lighting / LoS with objects that block vision. So, for example From the character's point of view, all the they will be able to see is the little "skirt" around the bottom of the tent, and the rest will be completely blacked out. As they move around the tent, the middle will remain black, and the character will never get a true picture of what the tent looks like. Has anyone found a good way of minimising this issue? Is anyone aware of any plans for making LoS a little bit more like Maptool, where you have the option of the players being able to see the whole map, but it is greyed out and objects / tokens are not visible until they are in view of the character? Putting Xs over things like that will let the players see more of the feature.  There are suggestions in the Suggestions forum for improving the Dynamic lighting of such things.
Another way is to outline the object with the DL and then put a light inside it that the players control so they can see the object.
Cheers chaps :)
