Hey, everybody. I'm new here and had a question about a pen and paper game I don't know the name of.

Hey, everybody. Never got into pen and paper games but they look like a lot of fun. So I thought I'd sign up here. While I'm here though, I have this nagging question that maybe somebody here can help me with. When I was a kid, some book store went out of business and my brother was able to bring home a whole bunch of them. I don't know the exact reason why. he didn't work there or anything. Maybe he found them in the dumpster? Must have been about twenty assorted books or something. Like Christmas. One of those books was a science fiction title called, "FREELancers." I think FREE might have been an acronym. Like, F.R.E.ELancers. This book was based on a pen and paper game, which I also received in the bundle. But I can't remember the name of it. Does anyone know it? Driving me crazy and I would love to get into it if you guys play it on Roll 20. Give you a little info on the off chance it helps you remember. FREELancers is based on a pen and paper game that takes place in a dystopian future cyberpunk future. In the game you create characters who have genetic modifications that give them super powers. One such power is to say, create springs in your body that let you jump really high. In the book the FREELancers compete with such teams like Web One and Web Two. Rival corporations with nefarious purposes. One character is called Refit. He can have any part of a corpse sewed on to his body. So if he loses an arm or gets shot up, he can replace himself. John Michael DeChanza drives a giant mech, C4 is a chick in a white bikini who can blow stuff up with some kind of kinetic energy. Captain Aries is a Captain America type. The game had a lot of corperations in it that were evil. That kind of thing. Had this whole mythology. Anyway, I know it's a long shot but google doesn't remember any of this. And google has the whole internet at it's disposal. haha. The cover of the book had a chick with blue hair and a gun on it. And giant blue hulk type dude with brass knuckles. Anyway, happy to be here, thanks for any help in advance guys.

Copied from a wiki. F.R.E.E. Lancers is an accessory book for Top Secert/S.I. role-playing game written by Jeff Grubb and is also the name of the group of protagonists in the same expansion. FREE Lancers was set in the year 1998, which at the time of writing was the near future. Given the changes in global politics and the level of technology displayed (lasers, psychic powers, etc.), it would not be unreasonable for an Administrator wishing to run a FREE Lancers campaign today to set it in 2098, say. The F.R.E.E. Lancers (Fast Reaction Experimental Enforcement) is a group of mercenaries that use paranormal abilities (psionics, super-powers, and super-science technology). They are for hire to the highest bidder, but their cases are limited to those judged worthy of their skills. The FREE Lancers appeared in two Top Secret/S.I. products. Accessory books TSAC4 - F.R.E.E. Lancers . Jeff Grubb (1988). ISBN 0-88038-565-0 TSAC7 - F.R.E.E. America . Scott Bowles (1989). ISBN 0-88038-725-4
I do not know the game, but would suggest looking at www.rpg.net for a larger selection of gamers. roll20.net only has a few thousand people and I think only a couple hundred actually use the forums. I poked around on a google a bit and only found video games and creative artist working free lance.
Free lancers was the only type of game named that so it is the TSR supplement to allow comic book heroes in top secret SI by TSR. I have it, but I'm running 4 games a month now. Sorry.
Thanks guys. Wicked awesome. I think I understand why i couldn't find it now. I guess supplements are kind of like add ons. Cool. Maybe if I get into this I'll give it a play someday. Since I'm new though I'll probably stick with Dungeon and Dragons 4th edition for now because that seems like the most popular one.
