[LFP] Central time Pathfinder DM seeks highly available players for role play heavy campaign. New Players totally welcome

Hey guys. My name's Gray and I've been DMing for about 11 years- mostly with 3.5 and Pathfinder. I'm looking for self-motivated players who want to interact with the world more than they want to kill things. I most enjoy player-driven games where players find their own goals in the world I present. I'm very flexible and available most days out of the week. Of important note is that I prefer to play more than once a week if possible, to the point of being open to play daily if the players are and I'm not working- thus the highly available schedule thing. Since I'm asked each time this is posted, I'll clarify: There is not a set date to play. We will play when myself and three-fourths of the players are on, rounding down. Recaps are done every session to catch up anything that's missed, so you don't have to worry about that too much. We'll be playing in Faerun for the duration of the campaign, but it's my version of Faerun. As I like to say, the lore serves me, not the other way around. As for race and class restrictions, I greatly prefer that players choose more "normal" races for their first character with me. Basically, a race that commmonly appears in nearly every campaign you may have played in DnD- no monster races, obviously. I need to learn how they play without any gimmicks in the way. Once I'm comfortable with you, however, I'm open to most anything so long as the group is okay with it. As far as Classes go, Gunslinger and Summoner are banned, but most all others are available. So, if this sounds like something that interests you, I'd love to hear back from you- new players especially. Hope to hear from you guys soon. -Gray
I am always interested in RP heavy games. I do have a few questions I'd like to ask: What is your opinion on LGBT+ people?  Weekends or Weeknights?  Silly adventures or serious ones?  Bend the Rules for story or make your story bend to the rules?  To what extent do you focus on the tactical side of the game if at all?  Battle maps for all encounters, none, or somewhere in between?
1) Totally A-Okay. Some of my NPCs swing that way as well.  2) Probably mostly weekdays/nights because I typically work Saturday/Sunday. However, if there's not enough appointments that day, they may send me home early. In such a case, if we were to play on the weekends, it'd be later in the day.  3) Serious stories with silly NPCs for comic relief. 4) I'll bend the rules for the sake of everyone having fun, whether it's for the story or not. 5) Combat happens when it makes sense. Typically, if people are attacking you, it's for a good reason- usually story related in some way (Side plot, for example). Ideally, as I said, players control the story, so if they take a more combative approach to problems there'll be more combat. Otherwise, less. As for battlemaps and such, there's three cases. If I can foresee the battle coming, I'll try and prepare a nice, well done map with varied tokens before hand. If I don't see it coming in time but there's still a chance something could go badly for the party, then it will be more crude with more generic tokens for generic enemies. If it's a very small battle, or if the enemies have no chance, it will be a more simple "theatre of the mind" type battle where the outcome is quickly detailed using a few rolls to determine just how well it goes. (Small fights mean like 1v1 or 1v2 type stuff. And then we will of course actually do combat fairly, just without a map.)  I hope that answers all your questions properly. Sorry it took so long- I typed it up first on my phone which took awhile, but it wouldn't post properly. So I had to get my laptop and retype it all out, haha. Lemme know if you have any other questions. -Gray
It's okay! I'm interested in playing. The biggest point for me was #1 the others I can all kind of get behind any which way of doing things. Mark me down as interested in playing, although I will be honest that I don't currently have any D&D books and would have to acquire them before play began (I'm usually more of a SciFi fangirl so I dont really own any of them). I'm always a fan of games with lots of focus on RP and political machinations (not that I don't love wacking people in the face with a morningstar or something if they piss me off in game) more than most other things so that seems fun.
Extremely interested in this. I'm a veteran of the system with about 9 years of experience with 3.5/PF and more character concepts than you can wave a stick at, but have been recently getting bogged down by players either unwilling or incapable of roleplaying, and have started learning a whole bunch of new systems in order to search for roleplay-centric players and communities. I've already got a very good impression of you from your discussion of how mechanics/lore should assist the GM's ability to tell the story, not the other way around, and definitely feel the same way.
If you are still seeking people I am also very interested my pathfinder is rusty so a few things I may have questions for but I'm interested and have alot of availability as well :D PM if you'll take me or have questions
Depending on the days and time I am interested in this game. Not new to Pathfinder but not much experience with it.
I'm interested. I have RP'd before although never with a system like d&d pathfinder, my previous experiences with RP are all trough text based RPG's on forums and the like. That also means that I don't currently own any of the d&d books, so when it comes to all these systems i'm a 100% newby.
Hiya! I'm very interested in playing. I'm basically brand new to Pathfinder and DnD and all roleplaying games in general. I've only played a few sessions of a Pathfinder game, but the group fell apart due to schedule conflicts. My only experience is mostly with combat, and I'd really love to see a more roleplay-focused experienced.  I work from home, so I'm pretty much available any day of the week at any time.
I'm not able to join (full time job, yay!), but I just wanted to say hi again! And-- to anyone considering joining-- Gray was my first GM and is *amazing*. You will be so picky after you have him because he is just wonderful.

Hello, I am very interested in trying Pathfinder for the first time, however im curious about what time would you set the games, as i work a part time/almost full time job. However i am interested in playing, and hope to hear back soon. Edit: Didn't read the title properly.
Am interested. Have ~10 years of experience with 3.5 as a player and a GM. I'm generally available on the weekends during the summer, as well as Fridays, but may lose some of my weekends when the fall semester resumes due to my work schedule. Huge fan of RP-heavy campaigns; always found combat to be both time-consuming and tedious, and, for the time spent, advancing the story the least.
I am a part of a group of veteran players. We are tight knit and all just kinda burnt out on DMing. We are eastern time located and all work varying schedules. Saturday Sunday are free for all of us and Monday Tuesday evenings are also open to all of us most of us are avilable after 7PM EST everyday of the week but 1 of us works Wednesday-Friday night shift. if you are intersted in getting 4-5 players in one swoop we are willing to chat some more.
I am interested if you are still taking applications. I have only really played D&D 5e. I have many a great things concerning Pathfinder though and would love to learn! The games i have played in D&D have been mostly just el-cheap-o games thrown together by the "I hate my job" employees at the local comic shop. I would love to see how a game operates and runs when actual effort is involved.
While I'm not super well-known with the whole DnD/Pathfinder gimmicks and such on Roll20 or overall, I am quite heavy when it comes to roleplay, having about three years of experience through other platforms. The fact that this is heavily based on roleplay greatly interests me. Mind maybe PMing me and giving me a rundown on the lore and everything through links and such? In return I could send you my character's sheet on Myth Weavers so you can read it over and see if it fits in with your campaign. - Ze Afro Gentleman
Hello Grey, I have been looking for a lot more time in a role play focused game.  I have a large amount of free time and some experience with pathfinder, though its been a while since I have played it.  Colour me interested and PM me if you are.
Thank you for all the responses guys, but I believe I've got all of the players I can handle at the moment. Good luck to the rest of you! Sorry I couldn't get a place for everyone.
