Pathfinder, round of Newb question #8

Greeting! It's been a while since i've posted here, my first campaign as a GM just ended and I am ready to start a new one. With new game come new question! 1) Monk ability, Flurry of blow : I do not understand at all, How many attack can he make? The book says he may make on additional attack taking a minus 2 on all his attack roll, as if using the 2 weapon fighting feat, but the feats says -2 for the first and -6 of the second one ... I am lost ... 2) Knowledge check to identify a creature or anything about that creature, like resistance or weakness or ability. Let's say the party is facing a Nymph, a player with knowledge nature make a check ... what number does he have to roll to know something? Be specific and include 2-3 example please lol :P 3) Can a level 1 Paladin use a cure light wound wand without making any use magic device check? ( I only need a Yes or No answer here ) I will know why. Thx for your time!

1) Flurry of blows gives you the number of attacks on the table for that monk level. Here is the table: <a href="http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/classes/monk.html#_monk" rel="nofollow">http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/classes/monk.html#_monk</a> So, if you are a level 5 monk you have two attacks at a +3 bonus. Now, regarding 2-weapon fighting, the penalties depend on the type of weapons you are using. <a href="http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/combat.html#_two-weapon-fighting" rel="nofollow">http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/combat.html#_two-weapon-fighting</a> The penalties with a one handed weapon and without the feat "Two-weapon Fighting" are: -6 and -10 The penalties with a light weapon and without the feat "Two-weapon Fighting" are: -4 and -8 The penalties with a one handed weapon and with the feat "Two-weapon Fighting" are: -4 and -4 The penalties with a light weapon and with the feat "Two-weapon Fighting" are: -2 and -2 It is the last one that the monk uses because unarmed strikes are considered light weapons. 2) The DC is (5, 10, or 15)+CR depending on if the GM considers the creature Common (such as an Orc), Normal (such as a Dragon), or Rare (such as an outsider nobody has ever seen before). You can find the CR in the bestiary. For every 5 points they exceed the DC you can give them a new piece of information (your choice). I typically do the following: DC = name and type of creature (such as outsider, aberration etc) and what that type of creature means (ie: what is in the bestiary under 'outsiders') Then for each +5 I give them either defensive abilities, offensive abilities, or special abilities. 3) No, he is not a spellcaster yet with the spell on his spell list.
Actually Guass, the level 1 paladin CAN cast the spells. "Spell trigger items can be used by anyone whose class can cast the corresponding spell. This is the case even for a character who can’t actually cast spells, such as a 3rd-level paladin" - CRB page 458
Omg, that's the first time I see some1 correct Gauss!!! Ty for the info, both of you =)

Good catch Joe, thanks. :) Perhaps I was confusing it with spell-completion.
