Trouble viewing as player

Apologies for all the questions today. Got a game scheduled for 6:30 and want to hit the ground running ;) I've got two players created in the journal, and have two tokens, each attached to a player file. Yet when I hit 'view as player', I only see a black screen. How can I view the board from one of the player's tokens?

You'd need to add yourself to the token/journal permissions. When you rejoin the campaign as a player, you'll only have the permission to interact with things that you have direct permission to do so since you're not presently wearing your GM hat.
Thanks for responding, Kristin! Still no luck though. I went into the journal and added a new player, whose journal and 'can be edited and controlled by' was me. Then I added a token, and made sure it represented my player, and had emitted light up to 80 feet with dimness starting at 40. Then I made sure the fog of war was off for that portion of the map and switched over - and nothing! Just a solid black map. What am I missing
If you've got the lighting turned on, you need to give the token a light amount on the second tab AND hit the box that says "Has Sight"

What happens if you just plop a token down on the board, give yourself the player permission to manage it and then add the light properties to it? I'm trying to figure out if this is something to do with journal/token linking.

Do you have Line of Sight turned on? If so you need to checkmark 'Has Sight' in the player tokens. Warning: there is a bug where Line of Sight combined with Ctrl+L shows you ALL light sources because you are assumed to have control over all tokens. (Summary: Ctrl+L currently has no value for GMs if you have Line of Sight turned on).
Going to answer these in turn: Brandon: I actually do have 'Have Sight' checked. Alas! I'd hoped for an easy fix. Kristin: The token emits light and follows the lighting effect restrictions imposed by walls. It all looks great till I try to switch over to player mode. Gauss: I don't have Line of Sight turned on, just general sight. In fact, I can't find the LoS box under the token configuration. I see 'All Players See Light' and 'Has Sight' with the angle box right after.

Line of Sight is a Page (map) Setting not a token setting. Check your Page Settings for that Page. Alternately, send me a join link and I will be happy to come take a look. :)
