When:Saturday nights 5 PM PST til 12:00-1:00 AM
PST
Campaign:D&D 5E Homebrew
Group level: 5 th 3 players
Tech: Roll 20 and Discord—voice only, no
video.Sessions are recorded.
Who are we?
We are an established experienced
group looking for 4 th and final player for a D&D 5E homebrew
campaign. We’re all about having fun and exploring a fantasy world together
where the players have as much input into the world as the GM.
Current group met about a
year ago through ads on GIANTITP and Roll 20 and have been playing regularly so
we need someone who can commit to EVERY Saturday night. We rarely miss a
session so be sure you can commit. On occasion life gets in the way so we
understand if you can’t make a session.
Gameplay:
We play a semi serious game
usually staying in character for the most part but it is easy going and fun. There
is a solid mix of roleplay, combat and storyline as well as character
development. Some nights may be filled with combat while other nights there are
just roleplay and storyline. All of the players have created backgrounds which
I as the GM weave into the storyline. The players have the freedom to choose
whatever quests/paths to take and are never “lead by the nose”, meaning they
are presented with several scenarios but are free to choose some, all or none
or even create their own path to follow.
Technology:
We use Roll 20 but mostly for
visuals, maps, handouts etc., but basically we use theater of the mind. For
voice we use Discord and we do not use video. The sessions are recorded and may
be posted on Youtube at some point.
World:
The world is a homebrew realm
created by a veteran GM who also creates the majority of monsters that you will
come across which does add quite a bit of mystery and uniqueness. The world
itself is massive with various environmental areas to be explored and currently
the group has only explored 1-2% so far. The world is populated with countless
races, monsters and civilizations—some friendly, some not so friendly.
Magic:
The use of magic is favorably
accepted in most places in the world with a few rare exceptions. Magic items
are unique and the majority are created by the GM, with some created for a
specific character. For the most part magic items cannot be purchased at a
local magic shop but on occasion the players have come across traveling vendors
who offer items of magic for sale. Potions and scrolls are more common and can
usually be purchased at local temples, shops or from resident spell casters in
cities and towns. Of course magic items can be found in dungeons, ancient
cities/temples etc. through adventuring within the realm.
Who are we looking for?
Someone who wants to have fun
exploring a new world and can play well with others.
Someone who can commit to a
weekly Saturday night and stay up late.
Someone who is not a rules
monger.
Someone who likes a good mix
of roleplay, storyline and combat.
Someone who puts time in a
background and develops their character.
Someone who is experienced in
D&D 5E.
Someone who is mature and
over 18.
Someone who is familiar with
Roll20.
Someone who is ok with the sessions
being recorded.
Someone who realizes it is
only a game. Tell us about you, your experience, your personality and why you would be a good fit for this group. What do you like in an RPG? What don't you like? Feel free to ask questions about the game, the players etc. I prefer private messages on Roll20 when responding. Thanks
