Hi there! If you're here just to give a skim / don't feel like reading the massive wall of text below, here's the short / TL;DR version of what I'm looking for: Campaign search: Real-time text-only format (may accept a seldom-used voice component for OOC only) Long-term campaign of FFG Star Wars, Dragon Age RPG, or D&D 4E Run on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday At a reasonable time for someone in the GMT+2 timezone (no earlier than 11 am start, no later than 1 am end) Dealbreakers / Hard no's: people under the age of 18 (ideal age range is 24-36) rolling for stats full hack-and-slash/murderhobo style campaigns disruptive/non-teamwork players limiting character gender based on player gender having more than 5 players (not counting the GM) One-shot search: Real-time text (with or without voice OOC) or voice-only format One-shot game of FFG Star Wars, Dragon Age RPG or D&D 4E; maybe D&D 5E, 13th Age, Pathfinder, other Not really interested in Adventurers' League or Pathfinder Society play / don't have the characters for it Run on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday At a reasonable time for someone in the GMT+2 timezone (no earlier than 11 am start, no later than 1 am end) Dealbreakers / Hard no's: people under the age of 18 (ideal age range is 24-36) disruptive/non-teamwork players limiting character gender based on player gender having more than 5 players (not counting the GM) This concludes the TL;DR - continue reading if you want to read the more detailed post. 1. THE CAMPAIGN SEARCH INTRO / THE BASICS Pleasure to meet you. I'm Az. It's always been somewhat difficult finding games with these exact specifications - Europe-friendly times, less popular game systems, text-based games. Still, if you don't try, you can't succeed, eh? This is a long-term search. If your campaign is still in the planning stages and slated to begin later on, by all means, feel free to talk to me! At this time, I'm first and foremost looking for a GM or a group that has one already. I'd love to meet like-minded players, so feel free to post below to give potential GMs a head-count - but keep in mind that I am primarily looking on my own, simply because banding together as players before actually finding a GM does not seem like a good idea (we're unlikely to line up 100%, especially when it comes to things like scheduling). I am also not looking for GMs whose games require payment. I don't have anything against the practice, I just live in a country where the minimum wage is less than a dollar hourly and can't afford it. Sorry. SYSTEMS / EDITIONS / GAME TYPE I am looking for FFG Star Wars , Dragon Age RPG or D&D 4E campaigns . At this point in time, I would like to find text-only games that play in real-time (so not PbP/asynchronous) . I may accept a hybrid system with voice for OOC (and only OOC), but it would have to be seldom-used and unobtrusive. Whatever the system and setting, I'm looking for something immersive (and for me, it's the main reason I want to go text-only). Chips-and-soda romp gaming is fun, but I prefer more involved / thematic stories for long campaigns. Slinging dice can be fun, but I hold a special love in my heart for roleplay, and honestly can't enjoy myself in a hack-and-slash style game. Far as settings go, here's some of my preferences: FFG Star Wars I'm very interested in Edge of the Empire games, at least when it comes to flavor/theme (particularly, I've a fondness for those without any Force Sensitives/Jedi in the party, but it's not a 100% requirement). I also like Force and Destiny themes, this time the inverse (ie everyone in the party is a Jedi, but again, not a 100% requirement). AoR's Rebellion-centric themes don't have as much draw for me, but I might be willing to look at that too. Dragon Age RPG I am most interested in exploring Thedas beyond the video games - time periods prior to them or locales they do not touch upon much. I am not interested in campaigns following the same story as the video games (eg. the Warden and their companions are replaced by the PCs), and would prefer to stay away from any custom Wardens/Warden Commanders/Hawkes/Inquisitors if the campaign is set in the Dragon Age and beyond. I'm particularly interested in playing a Rogue or Warrior - I already played a Mage in another campaign, and am not a huge fan of how the base system handles the class. 4E I enjoy medieval high fantasy the most - swords and sorcery type stuff. I prefer the focus of my D&D games to be on adventure, so I may not be interested in campaigns that are mainly about politics and kingdom-building (though it can certainly be an element, as long as it's not the central element). I also have less interest in high-end industrial/steampunk fantasy (guns are fine, trains are not), and full-on horror (rather than just using it as a theme now and again) is another thing I think is better suited to other systems. I'll happily play in settings such as the Forgotten Realms, Dark Sun, or your own homebrew world. TIMEZONE / AVAILABILITY I'm in the Central European (GMT+2) timezone . Far as days go, I am available Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Additionally, on Sundays, I am available until 7:30 pm. My available times are anything between 11 am my time and 1 am my time* (excluding the time blocks exempted above), the limitation being that no game should last until after 1 am (so the start time would have to be 9 pm my time at the latest for a 4-hour stretch) in order for me to guarantee being more or less awake and aware for it. *Due to having had confusion over this before, this is a 14-hour time block. I can make do with two games on the same day, but I prefer not to. I prefer to play weekly , but I would consider a once-every-two-weeks campaign as well. ABOUT ME You got this far, meaning you probably have something to throw at me. Awesome! You'll likely want to know a bit about me as a player before you extend your hand. You can read up a lot about me and my playstyle preferences in my  Roll20 profile and see if I might be a good fit for you and your group. If you've any questions not already answered, feel free to ask. THANK YOU FOR READING! 2. THE ONE-SHOT SEARCH Obviously, while I want campaigns, I'm well-aware what I'm looking for is in short supply. Until I either become more busy, or find the campaign (or campaigns) I'm looking for, I'm also looking to fill in the time with playing in some one-shots. Far as one-shots go, I am okay with voice-only games, in addition to text-based games. In addition to my preferred systems of FFG Star Wars, Dragon Age RPG and D&D 4E, for one-shots I will also consider D&D 5E, 13th Age, and maybe Pathfinder. I may consider other systems (which I'm not familiar with) as well, though I'm definitely not interested in any other D&D variants/editions other than the ones listed. Availability remains the same for now - Mon, Tues, Weds, Thurs, Fri, or Sat, starting no earlier than 11 am GMT+2, ending no later than 1 am GMT+2. I will play no more than 3 sessions to finish off a one-shot, though 1 session is obviously ideal. And, again, if you wanna know more about me and my preferences as a player, you can check out my  Roll20 profile for a lot of detail. One-shots are a different beast than campaigns, so this search is more open-ended and loose than the long-term one. Show me whatcha got!

I just want to say that this is the most welcome and detailed player LFG post I have seen here in years.  If every player here posted like this, we would not have to go through the constant negotiation and "will I  / won't I" dance that always occurs based on guesswork. Though I have run a voice only D&D 5e game in the past here, it was heavy RP, based in Kingdom building and politics, in an Arabic culture / flavor setting where many warlords vied for the rulership of the realm.  So that doesn't fit. One of my demands, (and people often give me negative responses for it) is that the player group has mostly to total harmony.  As an INFJ, it just makes me dread games with powergamers or inter party conflict. But what I am setting up to run in April is a long running campaign of Mongoose Traveller 2nd edition, Hard SF roleplaying game, a Future Noir setting, with voice.  which I prefer.   Narrative style (I am a writer, and actor) and theme heavy...the far future and dwindling resources on the colony worlds of the Orion Republic, as the elites of the core worlds consume past all rationality.  It too is politics, and assassinations, and Interstellar Empire building....not what you are seeking. And I am 51, retired. So out of the age bracket. So while what I am offering does not match what you are seeking, I applaud the openness and honesty inherent in your offering.  It is extremely tough to find groups that are not murder hobo sociopaths, that want a long running story with theme and content.    I have been told that games without a boss fight are too boring.  I abhor games that are combat as drama.  I get it, but I want more.  I ask for similar in extremely detailed posts that people tell me are too long to read. So this is welcome to see all of this clarity in one post from a pure player. I am surprised I have not met you here before, frankly. And glad you are here.  What you are seeking is tough.  But I have found through perseverance and clarity here, I can usually get something happening even if it takes two to three months to find.   You will find it.  This clarity assures it, because it leaves out the guesswork as we GMs seek players who will contribute at this level above all others. There is such a glut of players who skip sessions, forget to show, no notice no excuse, people who do not play their character as written and proposed by the player, and agreed upon by the GM, the Neutral monk who seeks the path of enlightenment, the scholarly wizard who wishes to research ancient dragon lore, the Penitent cleric who seeks to know the ultimate service in submission to the will of her creator....all with potentially epic stories.... who then becomes yet another murder hobo. If I had more players, I would run a text Star Wars FF game for you.  I expressly brought all three core books from USA to Thailand.. But my head right now is in this Mongoose Traveller setting that I have worked on for years, as a superfan of the game system since 1977. Many have told me it is too much setting detail.  That i am too obsessive about too many little things, like figuring out how many buildings exist per amount of population in a colony site. So I can say, I will keep your post in mind, but i think It is a mismatch.. just this instant. It is just that your post stands out as WOW,  This is what should be a template for players seeking GMs. Good luck.
Hi, James J. I honestly think the thing tripping me up the most right now is my timezone, but the other factors do contribute. I've been looking since... December, I think? And still am, though I did find one game that might pan out to be what I want. Time will tell. Too bad we're not lined up well right now. I wish you the absolute best of luck finding players for your Mongoose Traveller game - and in all likelyhood, I'll still be around if your priorities change. :) Thank you for posting!
Bumpy bump!
Hey- saw your /r/lfg post and followed it here. You can see from my mostly-empty profile that I don't have a whole lot of rpg background, but I like your RP-focus aesthetic (I'm a big fan of Adam Koebel's campaigns and style).  I'm in Europe with some evening time I could set aside should you find a whole party and GM (I'm willing but also really hesitant to subject strangers to my fumbling through both a system and role I don't know). Let me know if you want more info, or have something you'd want me to look over- I don't know the DA universe at all, but I used to know SW well enough and I think I can adapt to whatever 4E setting.

Hey! I, personally, would not terribly mind a new GM, and do think that everyone should try it at least once - though perhaps not as a long-term commitment, as they may not like it. Either way, you are most welcome to wait with me for a suitable GM to crawl out of the woodwork. It may be a while. :(
*ushers post gently to the top* Up you go, little post!
lol
Le bump!
Technically, my timezone is GMT+2 now until summer time ends. Anyway, bump!
Bumpin' this again, since I'm still lookin'!
Still lookin' here!
