Aquatic Critters, hear me!

So I posted in the Facebook Critters group some time ago but while I got interest in my poll I somehow didn't get bites in my game. I'd like to run an aquatic campaign in D&D 5e. There will be some homebrewed conversions for playable races (mostly form pathfinder but also past D&D editions) as 5e doesn't provide much in the water department, and perhaps some spell effect changes as well (up for discussion). The idea is to provide something -different- and it's also something I've had in mind for 15 years but never found willing players (two kinds of people: those who enjoy water levels, and those who don't... my friends are those who don't apparently). So here I am, literally fishing for players. Critters preferred since my DMing style is very close to Matt Mercer's (but less talented, let's not kid ourselves) and I'm looking for the type of players who will enjoy and go along with that. Critter: a fan of the Critical Role D&D show. If you've never seen the show but are interested in an underwater campaign, that works too. To summarize, I'm into role-playing, story, and a few tough fights as opposed to many easy ones. Occasionally, I do actual "classic" dungeons, because that's fun. Anyone interested in that?
I would be plenty interested in all of that.  I am more interested in the fact that you are trying to go for something different than the actual aquatic stuff, which I am more neutral towards.  Plenty interested in what sorts of interesting races would be available.  I am a large fan of Critical Role, yes, but if even I weren't, what crazy people would object to a Matt Mercer-style D. M.?  Do you have any preferences on when the game would be played, or would that be figured out, once you have possible players?  Within any case, I would be all about committing to this sort of game and can make myself plenty available, via some form of instant messaging thingy.
I too would be interested in this. But it would depend on the availability of the rest of the group and what the actual schedule ends up being. Huge critter. Planning on preordering Mercer's campaign guide in Monday as soon as it's available. I also am a very committed role player and I do voices for all of my characters. Look forward to hearing from you.
Yeah schedule will depend on when people are available. Obviously Thursday night is out because our show is on. :P Saturday night is my other game. And Wednesday night I'm actually gonna be a player. This leaves, Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday.
I just ran a two year "underwater" arc of my long running game. some people enjoyed it at first, but after a few months a lot of people were getting frustrated with underwater situations. We dried them out a bit and ran some island adventures before going back "under da sea" and they were less reluctant but still not into it. Its a shame because I had a lot more material to run. The game is focused on the Isle of dread now. Players don't seem to like underwater as much as GMs do.
Yeah. Though with races like Merfolk, going on land is less than ideal. :P
I'm very interested in this, look forward to hearing from you. Experience: 5E and some pathfinder and 3.5 Availability: Evenings and weekends.
Hi I have never played a underwater campaign but I am interested in flexing my knowledge and roleplaying abilities, if I could join your game that would be appreciated. available: everyday past 7:30 pm, all day Friday - Sunday
I forgot to put it in my initial comment but Monday or Saturday evening would be best for me.
