The initial meeting between Ismark, Ireena and the group of lost adventurers was cut abruptly short by the incursion of wolves circling the home of the late burgomaster. Some of the group noted that the wolves seem to move less like a pack of wild animals and more like they were guided by a singular purpose.
Fortunately the adventurers as well as Ireena and Ismark were well prepared to dispatch them. Following their victory over the wolves, they learned that Ismark wished to escort his sister out of this realm towards Vallaki but neither were willing to leave the body of their father unburied.
Perhaps this was their ticket out? The adventurers agreed to escort the siblings and lend their aid in freen them from the cursed town. Unfortunately this was not easily accomplished. Upon reaching the church, they met with Father Donovich, the local priest, as well as Laela, an Elven cleric from lands beyond Barovia. The party discovered that Father Donovich, had locked his son beneath the floors due to his son being afflicted by vampirism.
Despite the fact that the Father had agreed to let the party deal with the Vampire spawn, the sight of the adventurers attempting to assassinate his son filled Father Donovich with anguish as he lept up to prevent the adventurers from harming him.
Almost losing one of their own, the adventurers managed to subdue and behead the Vampire spawn thanks to their combined efforts. As the heat of battle subsided, the adventurers breathed a sigh of relief. Yet before they could rest, they noticed the spirits of the fallen rise from the graveyard beyond the church walls.
What does fate hold for our band of adventurers? Only time will tell.
