Rule question: Soulknife - enhanced mind blade

Ok - Perhaps I'm being thick... But a Soulknife can (and must) pick enhancements for their mind blade. There's a nice list with lvl requirements before picking certain enhancements. I get all that. What is not clear - can you have multiple enhancements on the mind blade at the same time? (i.e. a Keen+Frost Burst+Mindfeeder+Brilliant Energy+Coup De Grace) When do you pick these enhancements? Once and only once? Every time you form the mind blade? RAW: A soulknife's mind blade improves as the character gains higher levels. At 3rd level and every odd level thereafter, the mind blade gains a cumulative +1 enhancement bonus that she may spend on an actual enhancement bonus or on weapon special abilities. A soulknife's level determines her maximum enhancement bonus (see Table: The Soulknife ). The soulknife may (and must, when her total enhancement is higher than her maximum bonus) apply any special ability from Table: Weapon Special Abilities instead of an enhancement bonus , as long as she meets the level requirements. A soulknife can choose any combination of weapon special abilities and/or enhancement bonus enhancement bonus before assigning any special abilities. If the soulknife shapes her mind blade into two items, the enhancement bonus of her mind blade (if any) is reduced by 1 (to a minimum of 0). If this would reduce the enhancement bonus on the mind blades to 0 and weapon special abilities are applied, the soulknife must reshape her mind blade to make the options valid. Both mind blades have the same selection of enhancement bonus that does not exceed the total allowed by the soulknife's level, but she must assign at least a +1 and weapon special abilities (if any). This penalty does not apply when using the Mind Shield blade skill. My build is Ninja 3/Soulknife7. Dwarf. Str 17, Dex 15, Con 15, Int 10, Wis 13, Cha 10 (before magic items to boost). Relevant feats: Vital Strike, Greater Psionic Weapon, Power Attack Relevant Blade skills: Powerful strike Check my math on this please. With a 2-H mind blade and Powerful Strike, this build is capable of doing 4d6+Str Mod+Enhancement Mod+Sneak Attack (2d6)+Psychic Strike (3d8)+Enhancement Frost (1d6) +Greater Psionic Weapon (4d6) on a single hit. = 11d6+3d8+(6-variable) With Psychic meditation I could recharge mind blade psychic strike as a move+swift action, standard attack, and ninja vanish as a swift action. Then repeat that gruesome sneak attack combo. If all this is true - wow. That's fairly powerful.
And that is why I believe, objectively speaking, no dnd edition with a number higher than 2.5 should ever be played.
first of all, its MAY spend on enhancements, but you MUST spend them in this manner. therefore, you are not required to spend them, but you are required to follow the rules on spending s set by the rules in question. silly to point it out, but i suppose some people need that little extra nudge to get it right. yes, you chose the enhancements that are put onto the blade. They can be changed. BUT, and this is RAW: Mind Blade Enhancement ( Su ) At 6th level, a soulknife gains the ability to enhance his mind blade. He can add any one of the weapon special abilities on the table below that has an enhancement bonus value of +1. At every four levels beyond 6th (10th, 14th, and 18th), the value of the enhancement a soulknife can add to his weapon improves to +2, +3, and +4, respectively. A soulknife can choose any combination of weapon special abilities that does not exceed the total allowed by the soulknife’s level. The weapon ability or abilities remain the same every time the soulknife materializes his mind blade (unless he decides to reassign its abilities; see below). The ability or abilities apply to any form the mind blade takes, including the use of the shape mind blade or bladewind class abilities. A soulknife can reassign the ability or abilities he has added to his mind blade. To do so, he must first spend 8 hours in concentration . After that period, the mind blade materializes with the new ability or abilities selected by the soulknife. he must sit down and basically meditate for 8 hours to change his blades special abilities. Please not that this is not rest for 8 hours, this is another 8 hours out of his day to set his weapon the way he wants. also, He can add any one of the weapon special abilities on the table below this is the table. Weapon Special Ability Enhancement Bonus Value New special abilities Defending +1 Keen +1 Lucky 1 +1 Mighty cleaving +1 Psychokinetic 1 +1 Sundering 1 +1 Vicious +1 Collision 1 +2 Mindcrusher 1 +2 Psychokinetic burst 1 +2 Suppression 1 +2 Wounding +2 Bodyfeeder 1 +3 Mindfeeder 1 +3 Soulbreaker 1 +3 means only those enhancements ans abilities can be applied.

Michael - we're posting two different rule sets. Don't know where you got yours, but mine comes from d20pfsrd. For your rule set the concept is clear. But it isn't the PF rule set as referenced in original post. Wish it were worded as clearly as your rules. So. In this instance I feel we have apples and oranges comparison. Fysa. I'm not a grammar nut. I use can when may is better. Because I can. And because I may. In the rule set I posted, the wording is May and Must. Meaning at certain points the PC Must buy special abilities. I didn't spell all that out in line one of my post.

Edit - found your source Michael. Had to dust off my old expanded psionics from D&D. I should have specified pathfinder in my post title I guess.

Ok. After rereading the rules many times, I have it figured out. For any that might want to know, here's how I figured it...I had to add a new word to replace enhancement which was being used twice to mean two distinct things. starting at 3rd level and every Odd level after that, the soulknife receives a Mind Blade an upgrade point . This MAY be spent on either +1 enhancement or on a special ability. A special ability can't be added until a #1 enhancement has been applied. Each special ability costs a certain number of upgrade points and has a minimum level requirement. The total upgrades (special abilities plus enhancement bonuses) cannot be more than available upgrade points. The total upgrades (special abilities plus enhancement bonuses) cannot have an enhancement bonus higher than the maximum enhancement bonus per level according to table 2-5. For example. At 5th level the soulknife has 2 upgrade points. The first must be spent on a +1 enhancement bonus. The second MUST be spent on a special ability because the maximum enhancement bonus for level 5 is +1. At level 9, there are 4 upgrade points available. The maximum enhancement bonus is +3 for level 9. The soulknife decides to use 1 point to buy +1 enhancement bonus and has 4 points left. He uses these four points to purchase Keen, Ghost Touch, and Frost burst special abilities. Abilities and bonuses are decided once per day and remain the same even if the soulknife changes the form of his weapon. Hope this can be helpful to any that May or may not have been as confused as me. Excuse typos. On ipad.
