---- Preferred name: Eddy Experience: I've been playing D&D5e for the last year now, only having short periods of time not actually playing D&D. I've experimented running a homebrew setting, and I've also ran Lost Mines of Phandelver to completion with a group and I'm planning on running a D&D game at the moment as well with that same group which will be a homebrew world with my newly gained DM experience with a co-dm. I've played mostly combat characters as their main function in the party (fighters, a ranger, and a paladin) though I'm looking for something a little different this time around (more on that later) Play style: In the past as previously mentioned, combat. This time I'm going to be trying a more diplomatic approach excelling at espionage, forgeries, disguises, sneaking, and otherwise talking and getting a good outcome out of it. About me: Hey there, I'm Eddy. I'm a laid back guy and I'm pretty easy to talk to. If you have any issues or anything you would like to talk about then doing so is pretty easy. I'm a reasonable guy and I just want to relax and have fun really. I've been playing video games all my life and roleplaying on and off (unconventionally, it's a somewhat long story). I'm 19 and I've just finished college. Character idea: Name: Johnathon Race: Variant Human Class: Rogue (with intentions to multiclass warlock) Background: Charlatan Alignment: Neutral Evil (Don't worry I know how to play evil characters but I can change this if needed) General Background Information: Johnathon is not of noble birth or have particularly good upbringings. He was but a simple man who seeked to get by with his days, asking for coins to help support his wretchedly poor family. Every day he would set out and some days he came back empty handed. This wasn't really an issue till mother got sick. He started stealing coin purses, mugging, and getting involved in other illegal activities to help his family get by. His mother sadly died of sickness, and his father became a horrible man. He started to beat Johnathon, blaming him for his mothers death for no sensible reason, when asked why he avoids the question or makes some flimsy argument such as "You brought that sickness to that house! I remember you were sick and once you started getting better she became incredibly ill. This was YOUR fault!" even though Johnathon was never sick at the time, his father created a false memory in his mind. His father was an intelligent researcher attempting at the time to get his findings out to the public and join debates on philosophy and science. Despite this his father still taught him everything, and he learned how to swindle people on the streets since a young age playing tricks on other kids and eventually on your average passerby on the roads. Once his father was becoming successful in his career some years down the line. An envelope to be sent in the morning contained a letter to be sent off in the morning. He decided to write his own letter and write controversial ideas and topics that could surely get him hung, as Johnathon HATED his father with a burning passion. He reseals the envelope with the new letter and his father sends off a forged letter. It goes without saying that the plan naturally succeeded pleading innocent, but no one believed him. Since then Johnathon was a young man, and he learned how to disguise, pick locks, hide, pick pockets and forge documents. This is only the start for Johnathon and he wants to claim fame and fortune, and someday, power; by any means necessary. Story Time: If you are interested I have a funny story you might like to hear... Once upon a time in my first ever D&D campaign ever, I was in a small hideout that we were exploring and we encountered some animated armour trying to kill us for snooping where we shouldn't. When my ally on really low hp who is a spellcaster tried running back, the might JOHN CENA (a skeleton in a skeleton costume who is a skeleton underneath the costume) said "are you retreating from battle? Get back in there" He was a pc but being played as an NPC for reasons to long to explain and so Marcus our wizard had to roll a charisma check... nat 1... and the mighty JOHN CENA had to make a wisdom save... he failed with a nat 1. So John Cena picked up Marcus and threw him through one plate mail, causing an explosion, knocking me out, knocking Marcus out, and killed two animated armours. That is probably my most memorable and hilarious moment in D&D gaming also considering it was with some friends and we all got into D&D around the same time (with little/no experience). I hope you consider me for your game. Please let me know via this thread or PM if you wish to talk with my further as I look forward to talking to you guys. Thanks for reading Eddy.
