Waypoint question

so...I just watched the video that showcased the waypoints feature ... and then tried it on my own.....and for me, it doesnt work. What happens when I move a token is that no matter what, the "path" seems to always be a straight line from where the token used to be to where the token is now. It does not show whether or not the token took a step to the left or right, just straight to where its dropped. am i doing something wrong?

Glad you asked and figured it out, because I was playing with this last friday in our D&D game and was wondering the same thing. I just did not get around to asking.
