Soundcloud Search

Hi: first, just let me say that I know this is Beta, so I'm pretty stoked thus far. Looks neat, easy and fun. The one issue is that I'm a bit of a music fascist and I can't seem to get the Soundcloud search to work at all for what I want to do. I want to be able to upload my own music to make it work (<a href="http://soundcloud.com/aethereal/suicide-hymn-8-bit" rel="nofollow">http://soundcloud.com/aethereal/suicide-hymn-8-bit</a>), but I can't seem to find it in search. Is there a way to for me to 1) upload my own music to stream or 2) just select the sounds I want to play and enter the address to that track?
I don't believe that there's a way to search directly at this point. I believe that the Soundcloud search is biased towards tracks with the keyword 'ambient', so you ~may~ be able to work around the issue by labeling your tracks as such, at least until the developers come up with something.
In addition to what Zachary has said, if you tag it with "roll20" it will now show up in our search. With either tag, it may take up to 15 minutes from the time you change it in SoundCloud until it appears.
Awesome. Thanks!
Slightly different problem but one related to soundcloud searches so I thought I'd put it here rather than starting a new thread. I'm trying to put together a library of sound effects that I'm likely to use in my campaign (you know the stuff: wind, rain, thunder, rushing rivers etc etc) and while I'm finding a lot of cool music which has, for example: rain, in the background I'm not finding a lot of clean sound effects. Is there a good way to search for effects? Or do I need to start my own soundcloud and load it up with appropriate tracks as described above?
I have also had issues finding readily-available sound effects. The cool thing about this though is that if you throw some up and tag them with roll20 (as well as any other appropriate tags like "sound effect" that we could start keying on) then the whole community will be able to take advantage of them as well.
OK, I might start compiling a soundcloud of the stuff I need and tag them with "Roll20," "background noise," "sound effect" etc
Hmm, I've uploaded about 20 tracks with the above tags and I still can't seem to find them. Maybe we need a way to point to a specific location so we can easily find resources.
Odd. Have to look into this.
This is a great idea with the sound effects! Looking forward to seeing how that works. Now if only we could also get this thing to do the scents of manure and stinky peasant, we'd really be on to something. Think you guys can get that going on in the beta? :P
@Riley & Nolan: Have you guys considered enabling the option to do unfiltered searches on SoundCloud? Because that would be really helpful.
hey, I put stuff up on sound cloud and its currently working! its a crap load of one piece music. Just make sure you tag the individual tracks and not just the set
Ah, I'd just tagged the set, I'll tag the tracks and try again
In addition to this workaround, in the next update there will now be a dropdown to let you choose if you want to search for Background Music, Sound Effects, or All Music on SoundCloud. In addition, if you enter the URL of a SoundCloud track (e.g. <a href="http://soundcloud.com/aethereal/suicide-hymn-8-bit" rel="nofollow">http://soundcloud.com/aethereal/suicide-hymn-8-bit</a>) directly into the search box, it should now successfully find and pull up that track, bypassing the search filters. Note that not all SoundCloud tracks are public + streamable, though, so you may get a "sound not found" error even if you enter the URL directly.
Great news, thanks Riley.
Awesome! Thanks a ton!
