Good day to you all, I'm building up a group for a West Marches style game, and we'll be playing it using the Shadow of the Demon Lord rules. If you don't know anything about SotDL, here's a video review from the Game Geeks over at youtube . Here's a short introduction to the game: The World burned. The sword of the Destroyer consumed it all, leaving only ash in its wake. The oceans had dried up. The skies shined red with blood, its tears of fire crashing on the world burned what the fire had not reached. All that had been was no more, for the betrayer had brought doom for all to share. The great snake devoured the thunder and the ocean ate them both. The wolf of night killed the wisdom and knowledge as he too found his doom. Warriors and sages fought and died as all did back then, reaching at long last their rest in Hel. And yet mankind prevailed, for they had hidden within the heart of the world tree. New gods took the mantle of their parents, bringing rain to wash away the dust of bone and steel and iron. The beasts of the wild returned to their graze, the birds of the sky soared higher than before, and the fish of the oceans swum faster and harder as well. The world burned no more, and a new song begins to unfold. Welcome to Lifdrasil, a world renewed. This campaign was born out of my desire to try my hand at a "West Marches style" campaign, in which a pool of players does their best to organize themselves to explore the untamed wilderness surrounding their homes. In this case, that'll be the village of Bálvithr . The settlement grew from the people that appeared after the End of the World that Was, and although it's immediate vicinity had been cleared and shaped into farms, the world beyond it remains a mystery to its people. That's where you come in, for you are a hero in a land of myth. Well, not yet, but you have the potential, and that's what really matters in the end of the day. -------- I'm looking for Proactive players of any level of experience. We'll play over discord for voice, and use the roll20 app to manage rolling and to keep track of character sheets and handouts. Having a good microphone is always a plus. This is my timezone . I'll mostly be available to run games during weekdays during my afternoon, but do keep in mind that the style of the campaign will allow for most schedules to work.
