Multiple tokens per character sheet.

It may be just me, but when. I build a character sheet for a monster and link it to a token if I draw 4 out onto the map there stats are linked. i was wondering if you could add a check box to the character sheet to create multiple copies of a monster when pulled out onto the table (auto numbered as well maybe so they say things like goon 1, goon2, goon 3) so the game tracks each one individually?
<a href="https://wiki.roll20.net/Linking_Tokens_to_Journals" rel="nofollow">https://wiki.roll20.net/Linking_Tokens_to_Journals</a> for your first question. As for thesecond, I don't think there's a way to automatically number each one (although there should be). Perhaps through the API, but I'm not sure.
Yes Phnord, I understand that. Just when I have to pull more and more minions out for wave fights I wish it just made an array of record files and added a number to each token name so they would have the right HP and such but not modify each other.
to have multiple tokens with separate HP values and whatnot, you need to create the sheet, make a token, link hp to pull the hp you have on the sheet, and then, (and this is important) unlink the bars . In fact, if you are using more than just one bar unlink all of them. Once you have unlinked all of the the bars from stats , they will keep the values you entered into the journal, but no longer update the journal every time you adjust them.

Russell , you do not have to have their stats linked. Phnord's link to the wiki will walk you through how not to have stats linked to the character sheet. As for the numbering I believe the API can do that or you can do it manually. However, other people have suggested some kind of automatic numbering system.
OK Gauss, I would really like that and a reset button on the character sheet as well to start new fights. But I forgot to mention I would also like the tokens pulled from the character sheet to be auto linked so I can grab 10 new minions fast without having to link them all to sheets then bars then UNlink bars. 10 minions every 2 rounds for 5 rounds makes for alot of linking unlinking
you dont have to link unlink every time you grab the token. add the token to the sheet AFTER doing that, it will be pulled with stats in place and never need to be relinked or unlinked again. but you have to make it the default token after setting its HP. it will pull from the journal in the same state as you saved it.
O cool thanks. I thought unlinking the HP bar was reseting it to blank. Now I just need auto numbering. Guess I have to figure out that as an API
yes, you will need to upgrade to a paid account to gain access to the API. However, with the API it is a simple thing to do. someone... somewhere.... has already written a script to rename tokens if another token with the same name is found on the same page already. there are plenty of other benefits to have access to the API as well. For instance, I have a script that auto populates every character sheet I make in the journal tab with the correct stats and skills i need to keep track of, and makes an ability for each skill/attack/defense that is applicable. saves so much time when making lists of npcs and monsters to populate the various encounters, and they are always ready to get into a fight, if thats what the players decide to do. and they do. frequently.
