Dragging characters from journal to map question

Ok - when I drag a character from journal to map - the token shows up great, but I then have to click on and edit the token to assign it to the character from the journal. Am I missing something? Seems redundant to have to do this. I know I can just copy from one map to another, but was hoping for a more elegant solution.

It sounds like something isn't set up correctly. Either the default token is not linked to the character sheet ( https://wiki.roll20.net/Linking_Tokens_to_Journals ) or the character sheet is not assigned to the player.

If it is the first follow the link's instructions. If the second just assign the character sheet to the player.

Fully assign everything you want to the token.... lighting... bars.. etc. and then select it and make it the default token... all the "settings" should be retained next time you drag it to a map.

Thanks. I made the generic token and assigned it in journal first before stats were assigned and chose it as the token to use. So basically I kept pointing back to a "blank" token. Fixed now. Silly of me.
