SRD 5e Character Sheet not rolling weapon damage

I'm using the SRD 5e character sheet.  When I add a weapon from the compendium and click on the weapon, I can see the to-hit roll but the damage is not rolled.  I cannot figure out how to get it to roll damage for characters.  The NPCs work fine.  I have even selected the auto-roll option on the character sheet settings.  What am I doing wrong?

Just to clarify this option? The next thing to check is that the weapon added properly (i.e. actually has the damage box filled in and checked for the weapon)

Kyle G, thanks for responding. Even though I set auto roll in the campaign settings, it appears to have been turned off on the character sheet.  Thank you for helping me!

The campaign settings only work for characters created after the settings were saved, not retroactively. I remember there was a button that would update the settings for existing characters, but in my search I did not come across it.
