Session 1 The day began quite innocently as I
strolled thru my domain. It is a good day; the sun is shining, my ship is
repaired, and our enemies are all vanquished. The arrival of our own Lieutenant
Orguk distracts Zeektonne from creeping on the (ugly) farmgirls, and informs us
that Veric and crew have been captured by something. Naturally, we spring into
action and race toward him.
Unhappily, we have to sail thru a storm.
However, there is ever a silver lining to things: I found an exquisite woman in
the water, and I simply had to *ahem* rescue her. Things begin to blur together
here, but it appears the foul sea witch had cast a spell upon me, and I was
freed when Lieutenant Orguk valiantly dashed to my aid. In clearly lawful retribution
for her unprovoked attack, I impale her and she dies. Good riddance.
Unfortunately, the mermaids are upset by
Orguk’s interference, and they drag him beneath the waves. I dive after him and
execute one, but I fail to drag him from their clutches, and they take him into
an undersea cave.
About this time, I come up for air, and
discover that my ship is no longer on top of the water, but beneath it. Hm.
Zeektenne informs me that something terrible has occurred during an attack on
the ship. Truly, an utter disaster. However, there is nothing to be done but to
seek out our companions and allies, so we chase after Orguk, only to be
intercepted by sharks, which we promptly butcher. As a man of the sea, I assure
you that no shark is a good shark.
Upon entering the underwater caves, we
discover that there is air to breathe, which is nice, and a snakeman standing
guard. I challenge him to a dual, but Zeekten stuffs some cloth in my ears and
sends me back into combat. Sadly, this throws off my balance, and Zeekton
interferes with my duel by killing the fellow. Oh well, it isn’t MY honor at
stake. And nobody else saw that.
About
this time, we hear a scream, and we dash off to rescue the poor soul trapped in
the caves. It turns out to be our very own Rin, who has morphed into a mermaid,
has been tied up, and is being used as target practice by the local Nagas. …Kinky.
As a sidenote, Zeektenn ought to show more interest in females of her caliber
than the ugly farmgirls. In any event, we liberate Rin, and proceed forward.
When Rin realizes she has no cloth to
put in her ears to defend against the siren song, she starts shrieking a song
of her own, and we promptly get jumped by several dozen more nagas. I bravely
sought to defend her, but I was overwhelmed by sheer numbers, and my sword was
knocked from my hand. Meanwhile, Zeektonne has been thrown into a nearby pool.
Without my assistance, Rin is immediately overwhelmed and dragged away.
Things begin to turn in our favor when
Zekten springs from the water and returns my sword. The fight begins in earnest,
and we massacre the snake folk. Sadly, it is not in time to save Rin from being
permanently turned into a mermaid.
After this occurs, we hear a loud voice
boom thru the cave, demanding a cease to the fighting. Clearly, they no longer
wanted to waste soldiers against warriors of our mettle. I was all for
continuing the slaughter to avenge Rin, but Zeekten decided to be diplomatic
instead. Since this didn’t necessarily rule out the option of vanquishing our
foes afterword, I agreed, and we proceeded to the Naga Lord.
Incredibly, Zeektonne decides to offer
them an unspecified favor in return for returning our companions to us. And Rin
doesn’t even get turned back to human. In the future, I really must bargain instead
of him, he simply lacks the art of the deal. I’m the best dealmaker; you know
it, I know it, and the Nagas know it, which is why I negotiated that they recover
the items from my sunken ship for free. We load up the flotsam and jetsam of my
once proud Stormstrider, and we sail off on Veric’s ship. Fin.
