LFG: RIFTs. Yes RIFTs. :)

I know I am looking through the rose-colored glasses of memory, but I was going through my old gaming stuff and came across my Palladium/RIFTs collection.  Last posts I see for groups are 3 years old but I figure it wouldn't hurt to ask. I'm mainly available Pacific Time zone (GMT -7 or -8 depending on daylight savings) on the weekends but could arrange for early evening as I'm usually home by 4 PM local.  Anyway just throwing my fishing line into the water. Cheers!
Were you looking to GM or play? I would be happy to join and play either way. I am available on weekends at the times you suggested. I have never played RIFTs before however so I might need a little help understanding some things.
I am in a Rifts game now, but could do with possibly another. It's a fun world.
I'd be happy to join, if you're still looking for players.  I have the RIFTs book but have never played; as long as you don't mind a newbie to the system it should be fun!
I'm so down!! I have the main book, and the new west book!
I'm available after four on weekdays and free Saturdays, and Sundays. If you're serious, I'll touch up my character tonight and maybe we can play a game this weekend?

Michelle A. said: Were you looking to GM or play? I would be happy to join and play either way. I am available on weekends at the times you suggested. I am a longtime DM but also enjoy playing.  I'd probably go with a one shot and see how the group meshes.  Everyone has their own preferences.  For example, I like my action with a story...not "rocks fall you die". :) To start, keeping this simple. Basics: Using Rifts, UE book only.   ---Sorry no godling cosmo knights...not yet anyway. :) Party will be a group, so no PvP please.  You are free to disagree, but no one will advance their personal agenda at the expense of the rest without their explicit consent. Big darn heroes > amoral chaotic greedy sociopaths.  Exception: if you are playing an aberrant alignment you nonetheless are loyal to your party.   I will be posting more creation guidelines once I get home tonight.   Oh I have tweaked the rules system so there will be some differences.

Character creation guidelines: Sourcebook: RIFTs, Ultimate Edition.  If you have a previous one, we'll adjust to any changes in the rules. Races: Any in the book. Classes: Any in the book.  Note some races end up being the class.  While a human can take a character class...a dragon hatchling cannot, not that they need one...   For those not familiar with the setting it is a post-apocalyptic Earth (or parallel Earth).  Magic and tech so advanced it is considered magic abound.   What happened before: Earth was in a golden age.  Then, for reasons lost to history, dimensional rifts appeared.  These rips in the fabric of space-time resulted in complete and utter chaos as entities benevolent and benign entered our realm.  Now:  The current calendar is 110 PA which is post-apocalypse.   Major players: Coalition States: High-tech, authoritarian, society whose basic tenet is homo-sapiens over all.  Empire of Man, Imperium Est. Public are kept ignorant and continually taught that all non-humans are evil abominations to be reported and destroyed.  In reality, even those in charge of enforcing some of the more extreme laws sometimes look the other way...though not if they are going to get caught. Not everyone in the fortress cities shares equally in the prosperity. Many less fortunate, or those wanting a bit more freedom away from the spying eyes of the government end up in the surrounding Burbs (suburbs).  Tolkeen: Former major power.  High magics, psionics, and all races welcome.  Ended up being a polar opposite in ideology to Coalition States.  The CS-Tolkeen war destroyed them resulting in large masses of refugees and other consequences still being dealt with.   Lazlo: Small independent community that is open to all.  Many supernaturals, or others that are not allowed in the Coalition can hail from here.  Psyscape: Your mind shall be a terrible thing to lay waste.  Psionics rule here.  Society is more loose and not authoritarian.   Quebec.  Similar in tech to Coalition States, however not as extreme as the CS and is currently independent.  Setting for the players: I plan to make the first session a world-building and character creation session.   Going to invite everyone here and see what availability looks like.  I decided to put the creation guidelines on hold until I have a better idea what folks want to play.  First session tentatively set for this Saturday starting noon Pacific Time (early folks welcome). If that doesn't work let me know and we'll see what works for the most folks...
Oh and please RSVP to the invites :)
I just caught wind of this. Is there still a slot open Rered? I love that you are sticking to RUE I have a couple of ideas I'd love to run by you.
I won't be able to make it, sorry about that.
I'd love to join if there are any slots. This looks really interesting. I also have the Rifts UE though I haven't played yet.

hello. If there are any open spots, I'd like to be considered. I started TTRPGs with RIFTs around '90 (corrected by an old friend). It's been so long since I played that it's best to just treat me like a new player, but I am very familiar with the setting and many of the characters. I have the Ultimate ed.
Game is currently full so we may put other folks on waiting list.
